The honest truth is that if you're an adult trying to avoid iffy crowds, wearing sneakers, hollister shirts, and usually end up puking or fighting then G lounge is really the only option left in Philly. You will have to come to grips with the fact that you will drop a few bucks in this place, it just going to happen. But if you are looking for a spot to hang out after dinner with your lady then G Lounge is cool for that. If you want to pick up relatively hot euro chicks, they are usually there as well. Yes, the cover is about $20, but if you are on the guestlist, or become cool with the doormen then you don't have to pay. G Lounge is not quite Avenue or Pink Elephant, buts its a close as you can get in Philly. But if you are more of a pub or dive bar person you will hate this place.

Stark, modern, open. Best way to describe this place. It is a cube with track lighting, a minimalistic vibe and bar, and an understated Cambridge cool thing going on. The music was solid (alternative rap and hip-hop stuff) and creative, without over powering conversation. We got there around 9 and walked right in. The vibe was nice and the place wasn't overcrowded, we got seats right at the bar. When we left at about 11:30 though, there was a line of about 50 people outside waiting to get in, and the place was packed. Personally, I don't wait in lines unless they are giving out free drinks, $20 bills, or blowjobs....and I can assure you that none of these things were happening inside....so if there is a line to get in (as is the case anywhere that there is a line to get in), just go elsewhere because you aren't missing anything that you can't find someplace else. Oh, and I can only speak for one mixed drink since I quickly switched to wine after the first one, but my vodka and cranberry was LITERALLY all cranberry. Try as I might, I could not taste or find any vodka in there...and for $7.50, I expected a bit better of a drink.

The Endup on Sunday is THE place to catch some off the hook house music with a great mix of interesting people. The drinks are MASSIVE, generally served in a 12oz beer glass. The space, having indoor and outdoor areas, can accomodate a lot of people and let you relax or dance your ass off accordingly. Keep abreast of the lineup and you can see some legendary djs in an intimate setting. Love me some Endup.
