What a great place, the cocktails are amazing the atmosphere is like no other place ive ever been. There is a little gem at this establishment and her name is Dawn. She is the hotels Tarot card reader and what an amazing and insightful person she is. Her energy is calm and inviting and her presence is larger than her petite frame. She is passionate about her ability and show during her readings. I highly recommend visiting her if you are ever at the San Carlos Ghost Lounge.

Hungry for sushi? Grab two or three of your friends and head over to Pod, an Asian "fusion" restaurant in the heart of the city. You'll feel like you're stepping into the pages of a magazine, given the modern feel of the...well, pod, that you're experiencing. I've only been there for lunch -- but I recommend the chicken lettuce wraps and a house salad (big enough for two to share) for starters! Just don't look to get too full from the fare. I definitely was ready to snack by the time I got back to my office. :-b

Tonight marks my first visit to this amazing Cantina, deceivingly masked behind its modest black entrance. Day of the dead, Lucha Vavoom, what have you... without attempting to go into extreme detail describing the decor of this swanky joint, I just have to confess that I was quite impressed. Who ever thought or dreamt up the Velvet Margarita was surely onto something, or on something, leaving no single wall bare of vibrant artistry. My favorite decoration would have to be the dancing and music playing marionettes near the bar. Music - tympanic membranes dancing Ambiance - eye catching fun Crowd - hollywood Prices - minus 33.3% of a star Service - minus 33.3% of a star Drinks - minus 33.3% of a star (specifically, the margaritas = weak) Food - impressive and tasty My pal D-man's birthday brought us to the Cantina this friday night, and Im pleased to report my first encounter was a good one. My plan now is to start saving until my piggy bank can afford me a $30 dollar "Velvet Margarita" or four. Warning: no flash photography - it ruins the ambiance, hmph.
