FANTABULOUS! I make up words when I get excited about a place. I absolutely love this place. I mean you can't expect anything less than fabulous when you're in the Meat Packing District. As soon as you walk in you're hit with this "I'm beautiful and fabulous" aura that you just can't escape. Not only is it a place to be "seen" but also a place to experience! Did you know that on the top floor they have luxurious, elegant VIP rooms for private dining. On top of that, the corner VIP room has plush sofas, chandeliers, I believe a TV and a view. It would be a fantastic place to hold an engagement party or rehearsal dinner I think. Food was excellent. Loved loved their bread in the beginning of the meal, steak was divine and drinks were "smack in the face" excellent.

I was in the mood for good Italian. Since it was Midtown Restaurant Week, my best friend recommended that I go to Ecco. He ate there a few years ago and said that the food was great. Ecco is this modern, chic, hip Italian spot in the heart of midtown. From the moment I walked in, I knew that I was going to have a good dining experience. I was especially impressed with the very spacious dining area. It even had an open kitchen which was a surprise. I opted to order from the regular dinner menu instead of the Fixed Priced menu which was exclusive to Midtown Restaurant Week. I ordered the grilled Radicchio salad. This was my first time experiencing a salad with grilled lettuce. The Radicchio were long purple and white crisp leaves, slightly bitter in taste, lightly warmed, and topped with chunks of smoked bacon and shaved cheese. The contrast of the bitterness of the Radicchio, the smokiness of the bacon and the slight tartness of the vinaigrette dressing was a great combination. The salad was also tossed with what I originally thought were fresh pistachios, but according to the menu were pickled fennel. I have to say that this was a unique salad, which was very tasty and is now one of my top favorites. For my entrée, I ordered the grilled Ribeye in a lightly golden bernaisse sauce. The steak was cooked to perfection. It was tender, seasoned just right and melted in my mouth. This was definitely one of the best grilled steaks that I've ever eaten. The service was excellent. Our waiter had a very warm and inviting personality. I really enjoyed my Ecco experience. Ecco is now one of my favorite midtown eateries.

Tis the season for reflecting upon what we are thankful for. In the holiday spirit - thank you Ear Inn. Thank you for a not awful Shiraz when I simply can't drink any more beer. Thank you for the crayons and butcher paper to let the world finally see my drunken stick-figure-drawing genius. Thank you for not being critical when I top my turkey burger with bacon, cheddar and avocado. Thank you for always keeping the heat on. Thank you for sparing me from the obnoxious overheard in NY conversations with your no cell phone policy. Thank you for all the nights I was having such a lovely time that I didn't even get upset when Peter Dinklage gave me death stares for an apparent reason. Thank you & Happy Holidays.
