by Frank H. on So last week i had an unnatural need to dance. After being ditched by all my friends i decide, Fuck it...I'm gonna go sweat it out on the floor anyways. After a few drinks my enthusiasm when from a 10 to a 3. I had pretty much gotten over the whole idea when i go to check my email and BAM!!! It was like a sunbeam directly from God himself. Lisa Shaw was playing at Little Temple. Not only have i always wanted to see her (and always managed to miss her when she comes around) but the Little Temple is 2 blocks, count them 2 whole blocks from my apartment. The show was slated to start at 10 but they had suggested early arrival and presale tickets as the event was super low key and sure to reach capacity. I literally got ready in 15 minutes and was out the door around 10:15. I have to say i have never really been tempted to come to Little Temple. The drunken patrons roaming around the now defunct Seans Burger were always so annoying. No girl. i don't care how drunk you and your homies are. I was in line first and i will be getting my chili cheese fries before you. On top of that...just not really my scene. It was the kinda place i would expect a dress code at or something. To my surprise...no dress code. The door girl (after finishing her 5 minute conversation) was actually pretty nice and there was no wait. Cover charge was only 12$. So far so good. I get inside and the setup is more or less what i expected. 2 rooms one of which was playing house the other playing drum n bass. I opt for the house room. The dance floor was middle sized but the club hadnt filled up yet so no complaints. I walk over to the bar and order a whiskey and coke. WTF they were 10$....i take a sip. Ok woah, strong enough for me to grant forgiveness. Seriously i had 3 and was done for the night. The thing i loved the most about this place was the other club goers (much to my surprise). There was a point when the DJ was still on and my buzz was getting itself on when i found myself dancing in a sea of women. Beautiful, attractive women everywhere. Crazy...all the guys were kinda off to the sides except for a couple of other fags and me. Why straight guys weren't all over that shit is beyond me. The DJ was spinning an all old school set so I danced my gay ass into a frenzy. The thing was I felt comfortable enough to. Everyone was friendly and I even received a few compliments on my dancing. When Lisa Shaw came on the sound was good. Thats always a big thing for me. All and all a pretty decent night and I even ran into some girl I work with who turned out to be a promoter. While I'm not 100% sure I'd come back on a random night...I know at least now this place is cool enough to hop over to on special event nights. They have a Brazilian funk night I may have to check out soon.
by Lemuel Gonzalos on This is secret place. There was no sign outside and elevator. You need to go with friends who know this place. I kind of wonder why they play music with super high volume. I can understand if this is club but this is more like communication purpose place. It was so funny. I was shouting to my friends. Probably this is good place for someone who want to be closer to prospective gf or bf. You need to talk to somebody either shouting or mouth to ear kissing communication. It was cool place but I just don't feel like to give stars because my throat's pain.
