by randolph m. on Two things I won't easily forget about Harry Denton's Starlight room. 1) That silly, stupefied grin on Harry's face in all the promo posters. 2) The lowest common denominator, and it don't come cheap at Harry's, that's "Fa sho fo real", as the Souls of Mischief would likely say. For all the unreality and sheltered superfluity that is San Francisco, this place is as good as any.
by Delia Chall on Food took a while to get to our party of eight...too long. Most of us ordered the lamb, which was dry and not really spicy even though we ordered it spicy. Mild or medium must be really bland. The bread they serve to eat with your entree seemed more like uncooked crepe. The honey wine was too sweet to drink. The server was very kind of enough to warn me though. I ordered a class, but she offered a taste just in case I wouldn't like it. She was right, it was too sweet for me, and I'm grateful for the warning. I just ordered the house chardonnay. Nice thing though is that happy hour is 6-8 daily. Being that it was my first time eating Ethiopian food, I wouldn't say that because eating here would make my last. I would give Ethiopian food another try, but definitely will try it somewhere else.
