Griffin is one of those places where everything looks good. From the minute we walked into the establishment, you are amazed by the huge chandelier hanging from the middle of the room. Surrounded by beautiful people dancing and poppin' bottles, its definitely a fun time!

I like Grace's, it really feels like some of the old men style pubs back in the UK. People may have issues with the dark moulding but this is very much old man UK pub style and I would be depressed if it went away. The food is good as long as you want a burger and you don't mind it being a bit greasy. I've never had a major problem with the staff but there certainly hasn't been a lot of banter when I've been in there. I was in on Friday night and had three pints of Yards. It was a new style that I hadn't tried before and so didn't stop drinking it due to the fruity flavor as it looked cloudy and I thought it must be a Wheat Beer. Needless to say, the fourth pint came and was clear and tasted very different. Resulted in me and a friend having pretty crap guts on Saturday morning. Never any excuse for this, if you are going to serve draft beer and charge a fair whack for it, then you have to keep your taps clean. They lost a star just for that, win it back please.

Before last night the only time I had been to Bruno's was in 2005 when I accompanied my friends Martin and Liz to hear a jazz combo play on a Sunday night. I had a great time at Bruno's last night - it was a touch on the expensive side, so I don't know that I would make a regular habit of hanging there. The main club was packed and there was a line down the block to get in by 10:30 pm, so they must be doing something right. The door guy was super nice - Carl - he remembered my name all night and was super cool to talk to. I like getting to know the staff at bars, it just makes the experiance of hanging out there so much more like you're guest staring on Cheers or are a VIP or something when you can walk into a place with your friends and say "Hey, what's up _______? How have ya been? What's new with the wife and kids?"
