by Ali K. on Once locals from my town are going to a venue in droves, i know the place must be no good, because it's catering to the bridge and tunnel crowd. I remember vividly going here, because it was right after i turned 21. Getting past the bouncer was easy, no cover or anything because we were coming for a birthday. The original room they placed us in was very nicely decorated and we were able to watch the NFL wild card playoffs on the numerous flat screens they had. BUT THERE WAS NO MUSIC, THE SPEAKERS WERE NOT WORKING!! How can you have a birthday with no music! So after fifteen minutes of the staff frantically working they could tell we were pissed and were going to storm out, but they decided to clear out one of their front rooms for us which was generous and made up for their error. Overall the place was super packed, and the service at the bar was horrendous. I'd prob stay for about thirty minutes if i was invited there again and book it.
by Joolie T. on *sigh. why people want to lay on a bed and drink at a club is beyond me. the florescent neon lights really take a toll on your eyes. i've been here before a few times. nothing memorable. the VIP line means: i rsvp'd online. OK lame! what people don't realize is.... sometimes, it's the PROMOTERS that make your experience worth while. some individuals don't understand that. in my case, i know the ins and outs of promotion. whenever i'm here- i want to fall in love with the jelly fish, neon bar and unisex bathrooms again and again... but that never happens. last time i was here was for a fashion show. first of all, there's no room with a space full of beds for a damned show. they still did it, though. i was peeved because i was invited to the show--- yet i was too late, my ass couldn't go inside. so, i had to hang out behind the lines and drink from the open bar. WTF- if i wanted to hang out at the bar, i wouldn't have come to this stupid event. the decor is futuristic and beautiful. the bathrooms downstairs is messy- but still interesting. you can see if you're date has left you or not-- through the double sided mirror/glass. nice. the dance floor is waaaaaay too small- but the whole purpose of duvet is to sit on beds. i like that you can store your shoes and belongings in the drawers- but why the hell would i want to take off my shoes and dance in the bed--- triple LAME-O
by Reyes Dupont on Hiro is perfect from 1am-on, IN THE WINTER and RAIN. Dude, I know, I know, i'm gonna hear it for this - but you've got bungalow's up-top man, bungalows! Markedly easier getting in then the rest of Chelsea hotspots (hmmmm...), Hiro is no doubt one of the best designed clubs in the city, not gonna argue with you. Yes, you will find some yummy eye candy - you might even get to hang out with that guy from that show, u know, from back when...what was it called? shoot! and it was just on vh1's "this is what was hot waaaay back in the day" whatever, i'm not a hater. I like the decor, friends with a couple of the bartenders, and maritime is an all time fav...Just disappears from my periphery when the weather is nice...
