With all the hype I was let down. The steak sub was good it wasn't great. It was not very hot and the fries were Like Costco fries. All the celebs must get a different sub. I will try Pats across street next time and see, This is definitely a TOURIST TRAP Ironic though their core business are tourists yet they treat them like crap if you don't know the Cheese Steak slang on how to order. Newsflash there is a big world that starts 10 ft away from the restaurant

*sigh. why people want to lay on a bed and drink at a club is beyond me. the florescent neon lights really take a toll on your eyes. i've been here before a few times. nothing memorable. the VIP line means: i rsvp'd online. OK lame! what people don't realize is.... sometimes, it's the PROMOTERS that make your experience worth while. some individuals don't understand that. in my case, i know the ins and outs of promotion. whenever i'm here- i want to fall in love with the jelly fish, neon bar and unisex bathrooms again and again... but that never happens. last time i was here was for a fashion show. first of all, there's no room with a space full of beds for a damned show. they still did it, though. i was peeved because i was invited to the show--- yet i was too late, my ass couldn't go inside. so, i had to hang out behind the lines and drink from the open bar. WTF- if i wanted to hang out at the bar, i wouldn't have come to this stupid event. the decor is futuristic and beautiful. the bathrooms downstairs is messy- but still interesting. you can see if you're date has left you or not-- through the double sided mirror/glass. nice. the dance floor is waaaaaay too small- but the whole purpose of duvet is to sit on beds. i like that you can store your shoes and belongings in the drawers- but why the hell would i want to take off my shoes and dance in the bed--- triple LAME-O

I question the sentiment that this is the "best jazz club in nyc". Sure, some damn good music comes through here, but I dont think blue note holds a candle to 55bar or detour (RIP) in it's prime. pro's: - Great performers come through here. - They have decent food and drink - You don't *need* a reservation, but it is highly recommended. - Very close to the subway (feet away from A/C/E, a block from 1/9/B/D/F/Q, walking distance from N/R) con's: - It gets as crowded as the NYC subway. Don't go with a big group of friends, and only let your friends go if they are passionate about the music or artist. - Very expensive for what you get. They charge the 'music charge' *per set* which is about 60-75 minutes for the set. A top name can cost about $35 bucks, to see two sets will run you $70 bucks. 2 drinks per set brings you to about $100 bucks (this is per person...). I'd give it a higher rating if it were less expensive. I don't mind spending money, I just like getting my money's worth.
