Wow. I'm in love with this bar. I now totally understand the quote I heard someone describe this place as if it came out of someone's fantasy. Much larger than I initially expected and a very unique, yet awesome old power plant decor. The bar is pretty much underground and although huge it is made up of many rooms and provides for very intimate seating. I could imagine every table providing a unique experience. The food I tried was ok, decent but not exceptional. Definitely a must-go-to place in LA, and especially in downtown.

I went here for a Halloween party and had loads of fun but that's because everyone was trashed by 9:30. As for the venue, its pluses include the fact that there's 2 dancefloors and (as I recall) 2 bars. That's about it. I don't know if it was due to Halloween or what, but the place was shrouded in ugly. Nothing stood out in any pleasing way, and it reminded me of the dingy 18 and over clubs I used to not frequent. No seating, cramped spaces, and horrible ventilation. The pathway to the smoking area was a precarious open air stairway leading downwards, which is ridiculous for girls in skirts. And the smoking area was literally A RECTANGLE, a tiny perfect geometric walled-up space the size of my tiny bedroom. Not good for smoking. Anyway, I had tons of fun because of the company, but the venue doesn't wow me at all. Oh, and there's no ghetto dogs anywhere outside the club, which is just depressing.

They're a great place to host a large event along the lines of a rave. Never done the salsa thing, but a Sunday afternoon full of house music in the sun can't be beat.
