AMAZING!! Food: I LOVE THE ASIADILLA!! especially with the sauce that it comes with. i loved the sauce so much i pretty much ate everything with it. my girls also loved the sauce and we even asked them to leave the sauce when changing courses. the servers were so nice and they brought us more without asking! how wonderful. everything was family style so it was easy and fun. Drinks: they aren't THAT strong but they are very very good. i appreciate people hooking it up with the alcohol but personally, i get a drink to enjoy the drink, not get shiz faced. i had the "pink limo" and it was suuuuper good. People: the women here made me downright ashamed to call myself female. they are so so fierce and fun. i loved our waitress Sharon. She was so great and really attentive. The host was super cute too. Sadly he didn't swing our way (if you know what i mean) but he was still really charming and stopped by our table often. the bartenders in the club underground was great too. he gave us shots AND water without us even asking. he literally brought it to the dance floor when he saw us sweating balls and sitting down to catch our breath. You really need to go to this place with fun people and drink a lot. don't drive, call a cab. It would be unfair to have to have a designated driver. love love love Asia SF!!! good job uncle ronnie!

So Middlesex may not be considered the coolest club in town, but if there's any place I miss -- now that I've moved to California, it's Middlesex. Some nights the music wasn't so great. But that didn't matter so much because Middlesex offered the perfect escape for me and my girlfriends. It was the kind of place where we could let our hair down while being all dressed up. Middlesex, then, manages to find what I think is the perfect middle ground, appealing neither to the lowest common denominator nor the overly pretentious. And, as a result, you'll find a very nice range of everything and everyone in the middle. At Middlesex, finally, the middle was far from boring or banal. I met some of the most interesting, fun, and funny guys I've ever met. And I really miss the place . . .

When I travel away from home, I talk a big game. I think I'm a tough chick when I get out of the corporate cubicle for a few days. We arrived at Icon because the club next door that was once a dance place had turned into a strip club. Although the guys in our group wanted to go in, I did not. We approached the bouncer standing at the door at Icon. He told us we could stand behind a velvet rope and he would let us in...maybe. To which I snidely replied "I don't stand in line to get into places, I got over that hype when I left high school." The young kids in line looked puzzled, the bouncer let us in. We had a good time, but the crowd is kind of young. In about 10 years the clientele at Icon will grow up. When they too become jaded and disillusioned with thier middle-management jobs they will realize that a bouncer standing in front of a velvet rope is ridiculous. Excuse me, I have to go send a fax now.
