by Amanda J. on I have to say this is the best club I've been to in SF. Roy C. and Phuong are right, the staff was VERY respectful and professional. I'm not used to that from the douchebag Gaslamp District in SD. The music starts to pick up around midnight, but it was still radio status music.. full songs. I want a great SHAKE YA ASS mix to get me going. The setup is the long bowling alley status for the main area with VIP booths on the side, but it didn't feel awkward. The decor is legit. Stay away from the bathroom... that's where the beezies were congregating last night and screaming. "O.M.G. Hillary she just went into the boy's room! O.M.G. O.M.G. No, the boy's room, with the stand up pee stations!" .... Get me the hell out!
by haley p. on I didn't get food, but I can't argue with a $2.50 amaretto sour (I don't drink to get drunk and that's the yummiest thing ever) at happy hour. They get minus one star because my friend (who had had 1 too many pitcher of beer) went to get me another drink and the guy charged her an extra dollar. Oh well, I should have gotten my own drink. I've never played beer pong... I hate beer, but my friend and I played against her boyfriend so she drank the beer and I got to take a turn throwing a ping pong ball at plastic cups... it's surprisingly fun! I now love beer pong, but I'll probably never play again. This was really the 2nd bar I've been to, but I had a great time. That said, I'm not going to be heading there every Friday night, but I wouldn't fault those that did. I left shortly after 8, but it wasn't too crowded.
by Nicolas Maranda on We were in Philly for a friends wedding and decided to have a special dinner for ourselves at Morimoto. I lived in Philly when I was a broke college student so this was a completely different experience for me! My husband and I are long time Iron Chef fans (the original Iron Chef, none of this new stuff)...so why not? This is probably the best restaurant I've ever been to. The decor and design are fantastic. I found the service to be quite good. Yes, it was slower than you normally expect, but this is not a normal dining experience. Its nice to be able to sit and relax and enjoy your meal and the company you are with. That is to say nothing of the food which was out of this world! Now, I've heard that Morimoto does actually cook at the restaurant from time to time, and he will come out and greet the diners at night. Unfortunately we didn't get to see him, but I'd go back again to try and catch him!
