by Laurie T. on it's barely past 1AM, and i'm already home from this place. i came here for the winter white party as a rateclubs vip. my friend and i arrived around 11:30 and told one of the bouncers that we were rateclubsers; no questions asked, he gave us wrist bands and sent us on our way. totally missed the open vodka hour, but with so many bars located around the venue, there was quick && easy access to alcohol! once liquored up, we tried to hit the dance floor...but to alarming dismay, the main room was bumping some low BPM hip hop. whaaaat? ok, so we walk around to survey the other rooms...electronic && lounge-y mainstream. i wanna get pumped! it's saturday night, for pete's sake! we ended up chilling outside on a plushy couch, debating our options, before deciding to head home. one the way out, the doorman asked us why we were leaving so early (12:30). we told him that the music just wasn't cracking tonight. he totally agreed and proceeded to open the door for us. the sum up: -multiple bars -plenty of free seating -2 outdoor patios -3 dance rooms BUT crap music!! (give me a gay bar DJ any day)
by MadScientist on I came here with a good looking female all the way from San Francisco and we had a great time. we were testing a hypothesis and our social experiment was a great success. If you are in Minnesota and want to party, Barnacle Bills (or BB's like i like to call it) is the place to be!
by Marc M. on Worst steak I've had in Philly. Cannot understand why anyone likes this place. The folks behind the counter are unfriendly at best and down right rude under normal conditions. Food-wise, the steak was very bland. No salt/pepper. Cheese was like plastic. Way over priced for soggy, bland food. A real let down. I took my wife here as she was new to Philly as a tourist treat and we were sorely disappointed. The best steak I've had thus far is the unknown joint up on Somerset and Broad, "Broad Street Steaks". So good you'll hurt yourself! Leave this guy and his rude ways and get a real steak some place else.
by Dean Killin on What a great spot! It looks like a little dive bar, but then you get inside, and see that there's a dance floor a half-flight down. 2$ PBRs are good too. And they make REALLY good pizzas! I accidentally had one of the best nights of my life ever. For real. UPDATE: went back in and had another good time! Bianca, the owner, rules.
