The last time i've been here was when it was known as stock exchange! My foreign exchange students wanted to ck out a club in LA. . . so i called up my contacts in the clubbing industry. . .and was set! Upon arriving to this venue the line looked like it was 5miles long! Guest list closes @ 1030pm. . . Inside the place is how I remembered. . .hella crowded! Saturday nights are visionshock nights. . .so it was asian night. The stars were for the decor. . . mostly chilled upstairs where all the VIP tables are. . .less crowded. . . the bartenders totally hook up the alcohol in the drinks. Despite of the over capacity and thensome, I had a good time.

I'm a sucker for clubs that just have a big rig in a dark room with little fuss. I don't know if I'd go to The Mighty to meet people and mingle, but for faceblasting beats from your favorite electronic talent, it takes some beating. In the last nine months we've seen Modeselektor, Evil Nine, Flying Lotus, The Bug, Kode 9 and others here and they all kicked massive amounts of ass. There's loud, heavy sound, and it's easy to reach the front of the stage around the side without smearing yourself against sweaty ravers. You've got two bars in the main room so you won't have to miss a single bassline while you load up on liquor. And while there's screens, lights etc it feels very unflashy and a little bit underground. Never even really make it into the second room (and I'm not even sure if there is a third). The only time we went back there people were breakdancing and some dude gave us a flashing black box with a blinking red light. It's like a secret camera bomb or something. It's staring at me right now, monitoring my every move with its silent red stare.

What a fabulous place to have a company party!! My salon came here for our *very* belated Christmas party in February and it was PERFECT for a group of about 30 of us. Great food (no need to order anything!) Great entertainment (everyone was smiling the entire time) and awesome atmosphere. We could all wonder around as necessary, grab a pillow and move on to the next table to socialize. Not only that, a few of my co-workers noticed other people getting laid in the co-ed bathrooms. What could be better than eating, drinking, and SEX!? I give this place 5 stars!! :)
