by Bacon M. on Vanguard has a great sound system. the last several months they have RSVP lists where you can get in free before 11 or sometimes midnight, along with $5 drink specials, it's easy to have a fun night out in Hollywood without emptying your pockets. They also have weekly VJ's mixing visuals live on 16 big screen LCD displays, a niced touch considering the same video loop playing for hours I've seen at other clubs. It is also a few blocks down from the Hollywood weekend madness, which I like too.
by Paula C. on This bar is comfortable, epically because it's never crowded. The prices are fair and the bartender is very friendly. A bit of an older crowd, but they are welcoming. What more can you ask for?
by Ozella Jilk on I LOVE CIELO!!! I went here with a client after discussing at dinner our adoration for electronic sounds. We reminisced about the WMC and our fave DJs... Needless to say, I have a newfound respect for him! As we stood at the bar and ordered drinks, I met a cute girl, whom I can't recall her name, but if you ever read this, let's get in touch.. we shimmied (sp) our way to the ladies room hand in hand... love fun girls who aren't afraid to meet new people... although i only went to the bathroom with you once.. you're a-ok in my book. I came back and moved towards the dancefloor and as I took one step down, I realized that whoever hooked up the soundsystem at Cielo is a freaking genius! The sound was intensified dramatically once I was actually on the dance floor. And not to mention: Little Louis Vega....is AWESOME.... what I love about Cielo is the sound, the groove and the good time... I did see a couple sharks circling around... hmmm, NYC men can be so passe see ya on the dancefloor!
