by Andrea K. on I had my b-day party here on a Friday night and got a booth on the patio. It was amazing...beautiful, great music, and a fun crowd! THe promoter, Jamie was a true gentleman and took care of all of my needs and those of my guests. Our hostess was pleasant and our waitress was also super sweet. The bar itself was a bit packed, but hey, let's hope it's packed on a Friday night :) The patio was a great choice....lots of my pals are smokers and it we enjoyed a beautiful Hollywood evening :) There was also ample space to get our groove on! I can honestly say that I had an amazing time....had great drinks....and partied my ass off! I would recommend to rateclubsers who wanna let their hair down on the weekends! xo- andrea
by joanne d. on I come here on Tuesdays for PST. I usually have friends I just meet here every Tuesday and call them my 330 crew. LOL... Dig Sake1, he's an awesome DJ. I like the crowd here. Very chill and diverse.
by Dirk Brandolino on Spring, 2008: Now upstair restaurant is open. In addition to sushi, it serves some great Thai dishes. Sometimes I'm dubious about a sushi place serving dishes from other Asian countries (and vice versa), but this place seems to work well. If you want something sweet and salty, order Thai. if you want something raw and simple, order sushi. I've had both Thai and sushi there since the re-opening, and the quality hasn't degraded. -------------------------------------------------- -------------- Fall, 2007:Under new management, the underground club space has been re-opened, and ground-floor restaurant area is currently under renovation soon to become an Asian (not only Sushi, but Thai, Chinese, etc.) restaurant. Although I think it'll never be the same Oslo I remember, I'm looking forward to visiting this place again. -------------------------------------------------- --------- OK, in case you are from out of town and didn't know, Oslo closed down a while back. There were signs of mis-management. The sushi grade and service seemed to keep going down. AC was out of order on a hot summer day. Some beers were out of stock, etc. etc. Despite the smokiness and lack of oxygen, the downstair club space was a wonderful place. I saw many incredible performances and DJ's there, and there were always a group of cool people to talk to. I miss it.
