by Steve G. on OK...yeah, I get that it's adjacent to conference/convention central with the Moscone right there. I get that they probably get sick of the mobs of convention-goers of varying degrees of boorishness (oh, BTW losers, THEY are the people paying you stinkin bills). 4:45 PM on Sunday 1/16. Walked in...mission to have one beer and get a sandwich to go. Sat down at the 3/4 full bar...was ignored for 10 minutes while the bartenders just ran back and forth and spoke only between themselves. Tall bartender with short dark hair wearing all black...graces me by basically looking at me and raising his eyebrows....I order one beer and a sandwich to-go. He starts getting confused by what beers the guy next to me wanted, so I clarify that it was ME who ordered the Stella. His response "YEAH, I know." Very terse and rude acting. Just another of my recent frustrations with this kind of TOOL. Too cool to be working at a bar...and incapable of acting decent...much less making patrons feel somehting even close to welcome. How do these clowns get hired and keep their jobs?? Were is good management? Oh well...goodbye. Please do not waste your time there.
by Rasim D. on Mickys used to be very nice place to go out and hang out. But things change. Now Mickys is NUMBER ONE GAY BARS that has RUDE AND DISCRIMINATORY STUFF. On the entrance you will not be greeted, you won't see smile and welcome faces, instead that after FAT UGLY SECURITY GUY WILL ASK YOU TO see your ID and NAME THAN AFTER HE SAW YOUR NAME WHO YOU ARE he will accuse you that you are drunk even you KNOW THAT YOU NEVER DRINK IN YOUR LIFE ,THAN HE WILL HUMILATING YOU REQUESTING TO SPELL A,B,C, D,..... THAN HE WILL TELL YOU" IF THAT AGAINST YOUR RELIGION", IF YOU DON'T SPELL ALPHABET YOU ARE NOT GOING TO CLUB AND HE WILL CALL YOU A STUPID, THEN HE WILL TELL YOU TO GET A FUCK OUT FROM THE ENTRANCE. I couldn't believe what I was hearing...BUT WHEN I REQUESTED TO SPEAK WITH MANAGER OF THE CLUB THEY TOLD ME HE DOESN'T WANT TO TALK WITH PEOPLE REGARDING THIS ISSUES UNLESS SOMEONE FIGHT .... WOW.... MY GOD I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT SOMEONE RUDE CAN EVEN WORK THERE.....
by Collin Behmer on As discussed with Audrey, I will be charitable and give this place two stars, just because of the lovely company. HOWEVER..... 1. Sketchy girls at the door. Mean bouncers. Mean just because that's the way they think bouncers are supposed to be. 2. No dance floors, or maybe there were and they just had them fenced off like idiots. Everywhere is high traffic, with trashy-looking B&Ters passing by holding up their drinks like victory torches. And they were pretty rude about it too, bumping me over to the side with their huge asses just in case I didn't get the point or something. I know I'm little, but have manners, and stop playin yourselves. 3. A lot of people just standing there trying to look good (they didn't) and attract each other's attention (they didn't). Although I did see one or two yummy man-things cross my path. I expect more from dance clubs, really. 4. Fucking expensive drinks, and you can't start a tab unless you are planning to spend over $75, which, with the over-priced drinks I guess is quite easy. There is an ATM, though, and that's mighty charitable of them. 5. OK music, although they could stand to ease up on the Reggaeton, but again, they were probably catering to the B&T. More reggae and more hip hop, please. And not that whack, played out "PUERTO RICO!!!!" crap. That was great back when I was in college, which was over 10 years ago. I could have done a better job DJing with just the hip hop and reggae on my iPod. Don't get me wrong, I had a great time dancing with my lovelies. But I'll never go here again. At least Strata has inspired me to look for better hip hop opportunities. I hope Stretch is still DJing at Buddha. I hope Buddha is still THERE (I have been out of the loop for a while, to say the least...).
