The deals are so amazing every night of the week that I can almost overlook that this is not a place I want to be. The music is way too loud, and it seems like a standard college bar. Had I scored a seat on the patio, I might feel a little differently. On the plus side, everyone is really friendly, I didn't have to wait long for a drink from the bartender, and the foosball machine is a lot of fun!

Although I love Trudy's (do go see my glowing review of the Burnet location), I have to admit that I just do not love this location. Despite the private lot, we're talking about the campus area. Which means the parking situation is dismal, at best. I find that the quality of food, drinks, and service at this location is not up to the standard that I expect from Trudy's. It's also very loud, since it is mainly filled with rowdy, drunk college students -- which isn't a bad thing, if that's what you're looking for.

If you appreciate quality, then go elsewhere. The balls haven't been replaced since 1920, the floor in my apartment (circa 1890) is of better quality and more level than the lanes.  Large video screens over every lane flashing 'psychedelic screen savers' (warning: those prone to epilepsy should look away) and multi-colored pins add to the circus-like and cheesy atmosphere.  In a nod to oxymoronic policy, they have a 'dress code'.  You can wear wife-beaters, cut-off shorts, and dirt-stained jeans (and be a stumbling drunk)...just don't think of wearing a baseball cap as bouncers with too much time on their hands will remind you incessantly to remove it. It can be fun with a group of friends but then again, that is much more about being with your friends than being at this place.
