HAHA! The food here makes Pick Taco taste like crap dinner is like 16$ here and the drinks are creative and better and carefully crafted in comparison to El Compadre and Pink Taco, i kinda love this place, the booths are very comfortable and the back patio is fun at night, chips and salsa here go unrivaled thus far. Valet i guess but we usually cab it then roll to the bars. close to ECCO and BEAUTY BAR Beans and rice here are included with every dinner i think, soo good.

This is a review of Vertigo "bar," not Vertigo "nightclub"...because as alluring as packs of sweaty, sexually desperate people may seem, and as enticing as grossly overplayed pop hits from the past 30 years may sound, I avoid the Vertigo "nightclub" at all costs. Hell, it's just a tiny dancefloor tucked into one room anyway, underneath a galaxy's worth of miniature disco mirrorballs. Vertigo "bar," on the other hand, is a more amenable destination. As soon as Vertigo opens in the late afternoon, they draw you in with cheap well drinks and discount cans of American brew....and then keep those prices steady until a cool 9 pm. Thus you can make a mini-pub-crawl within the immediate neighborhood, and as the respective happy hour deals come to an end at the Hemlock, Lush Lounge, and/or Blur, you can still mosey over to Vertigo for their extended discounts. The decor in here, though, is odd. Besides a requisite poster representing Hitchcock's famous film of the same name, the Vertigo walls are covered in various tribal masks, some of which seem Polynesian and some of which seem African. I mean, is Africa the inspiration for exotic cocktails in the same way as the South Pacific? Does a continent infamous for genocide, war, starvation and poverty really put you in the mood for a rum and Coke? That said, its proximity to a number of hip drinking spots, its excellent happy hour(s), and its sunny western exposure make the Vertigo "bar" a pleasant spot to spend a late afternoon. Once the Vertigo "nightclub" kicks into gear, you're on your own.

I had resisted going to Saint for a long time....and I'm not sure why. A few months ago my friend tried to get me to go one night and I missed out on partying with several Sox players who were seated at the table next to theirs. So when the same friend asked again, I happily accepted. I had a really good time! We had a very large table in the back so we definitely had our own little space. This is the type of place where you need a table because it gets so packed. Our waitress was great- she promptly brought our drinks and we didn't have to fight our way to the bar. Also, I've found, that when you are at a table you don't have to deal with meat head guys and silly girls. (Unless you're in the ladies room, which I'll get to later) The one thing I was taken aback by was the music- it was so good. There were some really good mixes of classic pop songs with current songs that were unusual but worked well. The decor is fairly generic (but not laughable like Underbar) but there is no theme. One would think the Saint would have some sort of angelic theme thing going on but not really. I did want to make mention of the crowd. For the first time I truly understood what "bridge and tunnel" meant when my friend and I realized we were the only people in the ladies room that lived in the city. Everyone was talking about coming in from the North Shore...it was....strange. I also got a kick out of the girl complaining about $8 glasses of wine. Um, you're in a lounge in Copley Square....you should be excited its under $10!
