Scrumptious Brick-Oven Pizza. I must admit I haven't been here in a few years, but I used to be a fixture at this place awhile back and love their pizzas. Pros: Crispy thin crust baked to perfection in a brick-ovem Loads of topping options (my favorite combo is goat and ricotta cheeses) Top quality ingredients Quick table service Full Italian restaurant, so it's more than just a pizza joint Cons: A tad pricey for pizza, but worth it as a treat Sometimes crowded and/or long wait times

The only reason why I ever go here is if a new person is in town and has never been, or if I have a guy friend visiting. The newbies because I have to prove to them these waitresses are the best looking in the city. And I bring my visiting guy friends so they can leave Atlanta happy - and they can pass along good things like, "Atlanta has the best looking women!" If you females can get past the beautiful waitresses with 10% body fat, it's actually a good ratio for single women. The bar is usually full of businessmen in suits (except last night when I went, there were a few Navy men who just got back from Iraq.) I don't buy the excuse, "it's like going to Hooters" because there's only 1 TV! So call it what it is - the guys are not there to watch sports! The salads are actually pretty good, that's all I ever order. My neighbor and I suck up our insecurities and go just for the salads. As for the drinks, it's not really for beer- drinkers. More of the gin and tonic crowd. Last night I noticed they had a DJ, but I don't think he's there during the dayight hours. So you don't have to worry about loud music while eating. But, there's usually live music on the back porch during the warmer months.

The food ain't fancy, but it's darn good. How two guys in a kitchen the size of a closet can dish up such tasty bites is beyond me, but they do it. Great burgers but no fries. Most dishes including the burgers are served with a little salad and roasted red potatoes. Specials change everyday in a sort of regular rotation. Don't miss Shepard's Pie Thursday. The chicken pot pie is also a winner - flaky crust, big chunks of white meat chicken. The place itself is a history lesson in old NY. Believe it or not it was at one time right on the waterfront - now it's a good two blocks off it 'cause of all the landfill. Prices are good and the waitresses work as a team so you're never waiting long for anything including another ice -cold pint. Wheelchair access: Getting in is easy. It's cramped, but the folks there are always nice and they'll get you seated no problem. The bathroom... hmmm... there's a Starbucks a few blocks up on Varick and Spring.
