by Megan M. on I had enjoyed visiting the Starlight Room before, however tonight, the bouncer was such a jerk that I wold never go back. My friends and I had a couple of drinks, but they wouldn't let us i because we had had "too much to drink." Seems discriminatory to me,. What a- holes!
by Justin B. on This place had most of the best shows of 2007 for electronic music. Anything that is buzzing but hasn't quite blown up into the mainstream you can find here. Stuff like Cool Kids, Flosstrodomus, Switch, Kid Sister, Diplo, Glass Candy, Chromeo, LCD Soundsystem, Datarock, etc etc. Basically what the kids like these days. The place is freaking gigantic, the sound is awesome. It has a great upstairs with seating, large smoking area, a handful of bars, coat check, .. essentially all the amenities. Sometimes it can generate huge painful lines, but because of the booking and sound system it was one of my top spots to see bands and DJs is 2007.
by Nelda Sidelinger on This place reminds me of a cave -- with its narrow bar entrance strictly made for slim figures to pass by. And after shimmying your way past the bar, you end up at a trendy mine shack filled with dance space and music. Pretty nifty. My only concerns: I ordered a mojito and it tasted like pure lime juice w/ salty mint. It made my lips all white and wrinkly. Good things: It always smells like melted cheese...yum :)
