by Steph C. on Boulevard3 is my club of choice in Hollywood, and over my many visits I have become well acquainted with both its toilets and its trash cans. This is my own damned fault, and I always enjoy myself right up to the moment my brains make their exit through my mouth. My favorite hot bartender Jed does a generous pour that yields a deadly vodka cran. He also knows how to make a better shot than I could pull out of my freezer at home, shaking liquor up with ice and straining it cold and frothy and thus making me feel a bit better about the price tag. He's also incredibly sweet and lightly flirty. If you see him, tell him Steph says "Hi marry me." The space is pretty ideal - clean, beautiful, and huge. The dance floor can get crazy crowded, but it isn't hard to take refuge in the loungy area by one of the indoor bars, or outside under the canopies or by the lovely fountain. The crowd is pretty eclectic, which is fun, and it can be very different depending on the night. Plenty of people-watching to be had, and not one to be stingy, I'm sure I've provided some noteworthy scenes myself. One night Chris Brown and Rihanna made an appearance. They were very closed off from the rest of the club, but a couple of my friends managed to get pictures taken with Chris Brown. Rihanna and her friend were wearing these Herve Leger knock-offs that my friends and I totally found first from Togs at the Beverly Center, so that was kind of exciting. If you're going to be seen in public with Rihanna, though, don't you not want to wear the exact same dress as her in a different color? That's a comparison you just don't want to invite. Overall, I'd say Boulevard is a top-notch clubbing experience. Not too crazy, not too snooty, strong drinks, and lots of fun. The only real drawback is that sometimes they charge cover, and there is no parking in the immediate vicinity for under $20. Cab it if you live nearby. Save money and leave yourself free to drink up. And don't mind the men in stilts and bow-ties. They're more scared of you than you are of them.
by Fausto Guptill on Made the mistake of heading here after a night out with the boys. Pluses - The inside/outside atmosphere is really cool and makes for a good overall vibe. DJ and sound system were great. Minuses - General lack of cleanliness and if you are not under the influence of a mind altering substance, you will probably be a bit uncomfortable and feel out of place. Also, if you are under the influence, keep in mind that really good looking girl eyeing you may not be a girl after all.
