Came here on a Thursday, 1/15/09 with a friend visiting from out of town. We got in with no problem because a friend of mine knew the promoter. I was really impressed by the size of the place and the decor. Park across the street at the Arclight for $10. The vibe of the place was cozy and relaxed. I wanted to dance but there's really no actual dance floor so we ended up chillin in the 'library' (a room with overstuffed comfy couches next the the 'dance floor') where we ended up chatting with a couple of guys. Beware of the drinks, they're strong! However, my Goose and tonic wasn't that good. I'll definitely come here again!

I've been twice now, with incredibly mixed results. The first time I went to meet my friend Barb aka Elle Beaux from the Apocolypstix - Atlanta Roller Girls. We shared three yummy rolls: Tokyo roll - Snow crab, avocado and cucumber Hawaiian roll - Tuna, salmon and shrimp served with a pineapple sauce Special Spicy roll - Salmon, tuna, yellowtail, topped with spicy tobiko. I loved each roll. The pineapple was surprising but very good. Everything was executed nicely and tasted very fresh. The next time the BF and I went for $1 sushi on Monday night. Now, I know why they sell it for a dollar, so I wasn't expecting that much, but the sushi was warm. Not room temperature, warm, like it was sitting next to the grill before it came out. The rice was crunchy and half of my rolls fell apart. Also, it's not really $1 because you have to order 2 pieces of each fish, so it's really $2 sushi. They had a beer special for $2.50 drafts and they were kind of deceptive about that, too because they were 12 oz. drafts. I mean come on! I started out giving this place 3 stars because of my first experience, but in writing this, I got mad enough to knock it down to 2. I will never again go for $1 (ahem, $2) sushi night at this joint. The service was fine considering how dark it was inside. Maybe that was so we couldn't see our food! I'm surprised the waitstaff (dressed in all black) didn't bump into one another. I might go again since I liked it the first time, but I'll stick to Thaicoon for $1 sushi. It actually costs $1 and the fish is really fresh.

I can't decide when it comes to the Majestic. On one hand, it's twice as pricey as WaHo, for about the same quality food. On the other hand, I've actually had good experiences with the servers (and I've been pretty sober everytime I've been there). I was sitting at the bar area with two of my friends and one of the guys in the kitchen was just chatting with us about an old SNL skit. We also got our food pretty quickly. It's sorta fun to go to at 3am, but at the same time it's quasi-expensive, mediocre food.
