by Liliana F. on Um it's ok. They play good music but the atmosphere is blah, people are weird. There is a very mixed crowd which isn't bad but Its just an off mixture of people. Some are very nicely dressed in sports jackets and buisness attire like they came from work, while others are dressed like they are in a ghetto joint. That's why i say the people are weird. The feel of the place though .... is odd. Nothing really big to rave about, no theme to it just a plain club/lounge? They call it a lounge but to me it has more of a club feel to it.
by Dana L. on Rumor is a good place to go for eye candy. All of the pretty people in Boston (all 10 of them) come here to party on Tuesdays. Its pretty loud, so don't really expect to talk. And if you aren't on the dance floor, you kind of feel like a spectator. The music is decent - the exact same stuff as every other club in Boston, although you sometimes get a different remix here. There are two rooms, so if you don't like what's playing in one, you can move to the other. Cover is a bit steep at $25. However, the only other option on Tuesday is pretty much not to go out.
by Lorriane Hazzard on Hollywood is SO not my scene. The only reason I came out to this place was b/c a friend of mine invited me for some Sep bday event. Plus it's fun to dress slutty to go to a club! :D Anyways, it took forever to get in. Once inside, the space was pretty open and nice. It was about 70% women, about half of them for bachelorette parties... god those chicks are annoying... but that's a different story. The dj was spinning at a frenetic pace with the weirdest mix of music ever: the clash, mixed with nelly, mixed with michael jackson, mixed with... you get the idea. Then we finally figured out why the music sucked so hard... They had this dj group "Spin Doctors" which started on the stage around 11p with gogo dancers in sexy nurse getups. Then the music got A LOT better and everyone started getting in their groove. All I could do the rest of the night was look at the dancers and think "why can't I move like that?" But it's prob the same reason why I can't ride a motorcycle either *sigh*
