went there about 830 on fri-- good size crowd and super mellow vibe. barkeeps were very nice and accomodating and the drink menu and specials were fun and yummy AND cheap at $7! we had a rye and basil drink and a gin, elderflower and basil drink. very pretty lighting and nice intimate space. a few people were dancing later in the eve and it was an eclectic musical mix. when we left after andother round-- a perfectly balanced, not too sweet, effen black cherry cosmo and the "casino", a gin and orange bitters combo-- it was getting more full and kinda loud butit was a great new spot to check out in this neighborhood!

Great venue for singer-songwriter type shows. And for anyone in West Philadelphia an easier place to get to than most. I saw Patrick Park here about a year ago and despite having a crowd that was a mixers of diners and concertgoers, mostly seated at tables with meals, they were incredibly respectful and appreciative of the show. I've also been for just meals, and it's a bit spendy but very good. Overall, a great addition to the University City area.

I still remember this place, and I ate there almost 12 years ago! What stands out? The infamous scorpion bowl... an alcohol paradise for cheap college students anywhere within the vicinity.. It's a fun college hangout.. but thats about it. Ahhh.. bite me bowl.. strike hard :)
