So a couple of lesbians enter duh club. Sounds like the beginnings of great joke, BUT it's a true story. We went for a friends birthday. We went in and I got a $7 bud light. I nursed it slowly, and we danced, danced and danced some more. My gf got hit on by the bouncer. "Hey, can I get your number?" says bouncer to gf "This is my girlfriend" says mah lady as she points to me. ::: long confused stare from bouncer::: yeah, she's with me. weird, I know. heh  :| We go back to the bar and stand around and look clubbish and cool. Then this nice gentleman bumps into my friend and just like something out of a funny movie, gets... mad.. at her... for bumping into her. They exchange words. I then tell my friend to shut up and apologize to the man and explain to him that the city of Los Angeles  should really build him his own walking paths for that gigantic meat head of his,  compliment his shirt, and then exit the building. Actually no, that's not what happen. Meat heads gf dragged him way and then we decided it was time to go. All in all I had a really excellent time. Even meat head makes for a good story, obviously.

Jazz is music that makes my heart flutter.  Spicy Ethiopian food is food that makes my taste buds flutter. I met up with an old friend this weekend who moved to San Diego and she wanted to go to Rassela's to listen to spme jazz, since SD doesn't provide her with any good jazz clubs.  My friend and I used to come to Rassela's many years ago and it was a great blast from the past.  I had never tried the food at Rassela's though, so I found it to be a great opportunity to experience their fare. We couldn't decide on what to get, so we asked for the sampler plate for 3.  Great choice BF.  We sampled the Doro Wat, Tibs Wat, Kitfo and the vegetarian combination.  All were amazing, but my favorite was definitely the Doro Wat....the chicken was cooked perfectly and the berbere sauce was spicy and sweet.  I love the bread that is served with the food, which has a spongy, crepe like texture and a sourdough kinda taste to it that meshes well with the sweet and spicy. The jazz band was AMAZING.  I enjoyed every note. Only complaint and reason for four instead of five stars....the service was terribly slow.  They may have been short staffed which would explain the lack of attention we received in the first 15 to 20 minutes we were seated, but once our server finally came around, he managed to be pretty attentive kinda sorta most of the time.

I've never gone to a concert here, but I have gone clubbing a few times. First of all, the line to get in is usually enormous and slow (not surprising, but still). The bouncers are super rude, as are the friskers at the front. They should really have more than 2 of those, because frisking one person at a time while there's about 200 waiting is a real drag. The coat check is another haphazard line, and I know people who haven't had items returned at the end of the night (either lost by the oblivious checkers or stolen somehow). Their drink selection is mediocre at best, and the staff as a whole is extremely rude and unapproachable. Also, if you're going there to meet new people, you're in for a disappointment. With 3 floors and 4 rooms of music choices (usually hip hop, 80's, techno & latin), you'd think there'd be a place for everyone. Well, until you actually GET to said rooms. Almost everyone there is annoying, and either in a tight (usually underaged) clique that won't speak to anyone else, or older, creepy questionable types who just want to ogle your assets and be generally lecherous. No thank you. But if that's your thing, have fun. I'm sure the experience would be a lot different if you're there to see a specific band, but for a night of clubbing it's really best to go with a group of your own.
