As a middle aged gent, I feel very comfortable here, unlike places such as Rain and Oil Can's, where you only feel a part of the crowd if you are 25 and in skintight jeans. There's a really mixed crowd and everyone is always very friendly. Seems I always meet new friends. Charlie's feels like a relaxed neighborhood bar and they have a steak night where a steak or chicken meal is $6. The djs play a great mix of tunes including classic disco from the 70s and 80s. If you are into the trendy snob vibe, move right on. But if you like a place with genuinely friendly people and a sense of fun, check this bar out.
by Joe E. on This place Rocks!!! The setting is very classy and hip. Kinda feels like your at the Moulin Rouge. Table service was nice and the waitresses are very attentive so you get drunk fast! Plus they have 4 other bar stations. Didn't try the food but I will be back next time. The band that was playing that night rocked! The dance floor is huge and can get packed pretty fast. I can't wait to go back.....
by Felisa Szczesniak on O.K. this is not a place where you bring your mamma, and NOT a place where you go to relax. IT IS A DOWN AND DIRTY GET YOUR GROOVE OR WHATEVER YOUR THING IS ON !!! Maybe my time spent here during LOVEFEST, EVERYTHING WAS LOVELEE !!! I really enjoyed the vibe. NO......... I was not on any drugs or drinking and still had an amazing time. One reviewer had a complaint about germs, yeah, don't touch your eyes your mouth and your nose and all will be fine. And if the scene is going down hill..... then ...all you hardcore house people bring this place back to life !!! I can't wait to go back to S.F. you really have a great city. TAKE CARE OF IT !!
