by Karren Spayd on Well, to start with, the place is a great location in case you are planning for a relaxed night out in a club and not killing yourself over actually entering the place. Music is good,not blow you away stuff but good house + top 40. Get in before midnight if you don't want to run into problems getting inside, and get ready for a crowd that ranks all over except too hot and high. Having said all this, the place is great for what it provides, the only two big booos the place gets are these: the guys that think are the coolest in NYC and just have very sketchy means to prove all that wrong. And most importantly, there is an employee that constantly is in a demented search for your coat or jacket and forces you to check it in. C'MON!!! This is why I like this club in the first place, there isn't any other club I know that plays this music and is sort of this laid back (room to leave your stuff and for girls to sit without having a table) and you're still going to have at least 3 - 4 drinks!! Overall I would give this place 4 stars but just because of that jerk and his obnoxious attitude this gets a 3. If you don't mind that, knock yourself out, it does deserve a visit if you are not making big plans and want to hang out in a club in Manhattan.
by Aurelia Mickle on Similar to J K our party of 20+ all purchased VIP tickets for Saturday's Halloween party and were told to wait in a line that wrapped around the corner and never moved. The bouncers and staff members would not give us an honest answer as to what is going on. They each made up a different story ranging from "every ticket is a VIP ticket so everyone has to wait in the line" to "we have a private party that will be wrapping up shortly". We left after overhearing that there was no open bar and that this was a complete scam. Needless to say, this ruined a big night. Also, the promised refund has only been randomly processed for a select few. 2 of our friends received emails regarding the refund while others haven't. I contacted the promoter via the website that the owner listed yesterday afternoon, and have yet to receive a response and no one has been answering the phones. Carnival, it's time to own up to your mistakes. Don't take the chance on potentially ruining your night, never come here.
by George B. on This is Old School Fast Food... The Varsity is across the freeway (I-75) from Georgia Tech in the heart of Atlanta, GA. This place is old school fast food. Everything here is home made even there own Orange Soda drink. This place has some amazing chilly dogs and since I am from the Coney Island capital of the world. I consider myself an expert on such paranormal activity. This place has a huge location and is family owned and operated. It is a great place to catch some unpretentious food really quick. This place will make your belly happy....
