by Brooke H. on I could give it four stars for the food, which was pretty good (yummy carnitas, and I like the crispy taco inside soft taco thing), but it loses one star because: 1. A guy in front of us complained that he was being charged more than the posted menus and signs, and the person at the counter said, "Those are out of date." No bueno! Our meal also seemed more expensive than it should have been, but we can't know for sure because they didn't give us a receipt. 2. The decor is interesting but trashy. Needs cleaning in many spots. Many. Many many. 3. Their guacamole was not very tasty -- it was strangely pasty and flavorless, and seemed like it came from a plastic pouch (although I've been told it's housemade). Needs more onions and less pureeing. 4. And fourthly, I have NEVER FARTED SO MUCH IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. From the moment we finished eating lunch and both felt bloated, through to the next day -- it was unreal. There weren't that many beans on my taco, so to me this means they didn't soak their beans properly before cooking with them. Still, as a write this, I feel the rumbling within. Please God, let my intestines have relief today. Please. Please please please.

Poor Experience! heard this place was revamped, that it was supposed to be *epic*, so i thought we'd go here to celebrate my graduation... let's just say never again. the club was nice (eh your typical hollywood wknd crowd... but there was good mix of music, plus the setup was sick, have to give credit the idea is pretty clever)... BUT seriously do not waste your money paying for a table.. lets start with the hosts. they are totally oblivious! so unorganized and they made it very clear that they had no idea what was going on. paid $$$$ for multiple bottles and they didn't feel compelled to walk us to our table? just pointing us in the general direction?? no, no. so some of us were trying to figure out which table was ours and the hosts disappered only to tell my friends later (who got held up by the bouncer at the entrance "cause of their id's"--eww! please flirt on your own time, not ours), "oh your group is up the stairs".. really? yaaa, no. not happy. then find out they charged my card twice?!? WTF??? no, never again. lets be honest, had FUN [an amazing time] but more because i was with my friends.. if i'm going to spend that much for bottle service i'd rather spend it elsewhere. might go to the club again (maybe), but def do not consider it worth it to buy a bottle. the only other good pro i have for you regarding "myhouse" other than the neat decor is the parking (so easy, and valet was $10--that was a nice surprise). anyways, hope that helps. cheers!
by Annika Ashfield on I really dislike Midtown, but I like Halo, a lot!! Halo manages to be swank without being too pretentious. You can waltz in wearing flip-flops and jeans or a couture outfit . . . either way you will fit right in.
