I came here mistakenly thinking it was Swan Oyster Depot. I made reservations for my GF and I for our anniversary without knowing what I was getting myself into! The waitstaff was very friendly and helpful yet slow. OK, OKAAAYY I admit it, we did not "dress up" for the occasion. in fact, we came in with shopping bags (complete party foal) but come on, it doesn't take 15 mins to pick up a credit card when there is less than 25 people in the restaurant. The interior was very loungy/classy/sassy yet the top 40 radio hits that blasted through their beautiful surround sound speakers completely threw me off. We ordered some kind of variety seafood platter, a dozen oysters, tuna poki, and a ahi tuna entrée. The food was DELICIOUS! The servers explained the dishes in great detail and was prompt on picking up empty dishes. The bill racked up to be 100 (including tip) Overall I think this would have been an AMAZING experience if I knew what i was getting ready for.

I love Little Temple. Easy location. Two rooms, Cool Vibe. Strong drinks. Always good music and people dancing!

As soon as I spotted pimento cheese on the menu at South City Kitchen I told my friend Jill (a native Californian) that we absolutely had to order it. She'd never heard of the stuff, and neither of us had ever tried it. Still, I knew we could not pass up the opportunity to sample this Southern delicacy and asked our server to fetch us an order along with some fried green tomatoes. As soon as we dug into this tasty cheese mixture, we were hooked. And the house pickles and onions that came with it were also wonderfully flavorful! After our appetizers we moved on to the buttermilk fried chicken which the folks at South City were kind enough to split for us. Each of us ended up with a huge portion of crispy, juicy chicken, whipped potatoes and green beans. Eating at a place like South City Kitchen helps non-Southerners to understand what folks in California and other coastal spots are trying to do when they fashion "comfort" and "New American" and "Neo Soul" menus. Only South City does it much better!
