by Reba Hooey on This place is epic fail! Tries way too cool to look trendy but ends up hella lame. For groups, there's these illuminated rooms with neon lights and windows so the entire restaurant can stare you while they eat and make comments about how ridiculous the whole thing is. As for the food, its not that great either. I suppose I shouldn't expect much from a "fusion" restaurant but the sushi here not only costs 3x as much but tastes 3x worse than sushi you get elsewhere. The stirfrys and such tasted abit too salty with not much asian flavoring at all. We also got this udon dish pork dish, which literally tasted like boiled salted udons dipped in oil and a chunk of roast pork(although it was tender). Also, the busboys here are like sharks, relentlessly coming to your table to ask if you're done with a plate, even if theres still food left. We literally got asked 3 times in a span of 10 minutes if we were done with our sushi plate that still had 4 pieces of sushi on it. I'd be more understanding if it was busy and they were trying to accomodate the people waiting but the place was half empty! Will not recommend this place, except to people that piss me off
by Christie Grau on Yeah I've gotta say, I'm always a fan of this place when I do make it over here. The DJ gets my utmost respect. There are long stretches of time where it's chill drive-with-the-top-down-and-a-cap-pulled-low bass, rather than dance-my-ass-off-while-I'm-still-dizzy-drunk beats, so I end up standing there letting my sweat cool and catching my breath again. But the DJ plays a mix of everything and there's always an OHHH! of happy recognition rising up from some corner. Space: Yes, it's tiny, it gets ridiculously packed, and ridiculously hot. Crowd: I've been there so sporradically, and it's been a different crowd each time. One thursday, it was a completely dead night with a room full of asian dudes, and two chicks. Must of been a dud birthday party. Another night, and it was full and poppin, with a good mixed crowd. My friend got her small purse stolen. Another night, PACKED to the fuckin BRIM with not just mad people, but mad SUPER TALL people. It was a tall-person party. My five-foot-tall ass got swallowed in the mix. Ended up dancing between two tables because that was the only space I can find for movement. I always go with friends, guy friends, so I dont know what the Game crowd is like. But the one thing consistent is that the music is always great. The lights are low and the bass is loud. There is not so much space that I feel too awkward to dance, as if I was being watched. All good formula for getting it in.
by David V. on COME TO CHARLIE HORSE. It's a drag show that happens at midnight on Fridays. It's always lots of fun and it's completely FREE! Beside that, it's just a great little bar with a stage and a back patio for smoking. The prices are low, the staff is nice and the DJ is above. What's not to love?
