I actually like this place. Enough to give it 4 stars. But, it's part of Spring & 4th, where I still hold a grudge against it's mafia-like supporters, so we'll start with three. I can always bump it up later :) (but that will require no random threats or insults from promoters / DJ's / groupies / etc on here, Facebook, or LiveJournal... ) ANYway... venue itself is large. I'm guessing the name Quad might come from the 4 areas to hang out in. Such as a foyer type place with a crescent shaped bar, another large bar area through a hallway (it earned the name trainwreck room at this particular party, as it lacks it's own music selection, yet is centered right between the three others, letting you sample an interesting mix of beats from all sides... ) There's a "main room" area with a large stage, large floor, and a patio off to the side (smokers hangout!) There's also an area downstairs that is equally large, this one has booths off to the side. Works out well as a music venue, and the space can easily accommodate large events. Solid 3 stars.

If you like a little lack of service that pairs nicely with a Bordeaux, or perhaps some snark to offset the oak finish of a Chardonnay then this might be your place. It would almost be worth grinning it and bearing it, since the place has such a cozy and warm feel, more reminiscent of a cafe than a wine bar, but being treated poorly just shouldn't have such a high profit margin.

I like music I can recognize. I like radio plays and why I have adolescent music tastes. I will over play the shit out of a song before I'm actually tired of it. So in these days of house that all sounds the same to me and I get bored of in an hour or so and indie rock that I will never hear on the radio, the only style of "new" music that I really like are mashups. And obviously new is stretching it. But I have to hand it to anyone who thinks of putting Eminem & the Eurythmics together and makes it sound good. Genius. And a night that is dedicated to such genius? It is a place that has my name written all over it. Bootie rocks my socks. I need to go back. Before I get the shakes.
