by Justiney B. on This place had a $10 entrace fee on Thursday night. We were told happy hour was going to go on for another half hour so we made our way downstairs so we can order some drinks. We head downstairs only to find is SUPER empty. We walk over to the bar to confirm that happy hour is still going on. The bartender told us it had been over for a while. Maybe they ended happy hour early that night because no one was freaking there. We weren't trying to be cheap, but we already had drinks in our hotel room. We just wanted to find a place w/ a nice vibe and cheap drinks. Instead of paying full price, we might as well head back to the room and drink the bottles of alcohol we bought at the store. SO, we went back upstairs and asked for a refund. Luckily, they understood our situation and gave us our money back. They told us that Friday would be free for us w/ happy hour between 6-845 or something so we had every intention of heading back the following night. While we were getting ready Friday night, my girlfriend called Infusion to confirm when happy hour started and all of that. They told my friend that the entrance fee was going to be $25!!! WTF?! No thank you. So we decided to forget Infusion altogether and do something else.

by Marybelle Houck on Unlike Avalon, you won't be packed in like a sardine here. The Roxy hits the spot. and it actually plays techno, which is what clubs should play. If you want to see rock go to one of the 100,000+ Boston bars that host "indie" shows. Sometimes rock acts do pollute this place, but that's rare. Roxy hosts some great hip-hop acts as well as techno. I saw Eyedea and Abilities here. I would have seen Atmosphere but I was feeling a little under the weather. Which brings me to my last point. The Roxy bartenders or bartendresses do not skimp when it comes to drinks. Be forewarned! They load the drinks up here, which is great because you get more for your money. However, lightweights should be cautious. Come here for an awesome night.
