I went here on Thanksgiving night with my family. I'm not really into the "Black Hollywood" scene so I was skeptical from the start. But the email flyer I got said free drinks and free entry before 12 so I was totally down for trying it out. Cause I'm a person that can feel the "spirit" in the atmosphere at places. I love to go out to nightclubs and party and dance and I'm from Atlanta and I remember the Atlanta party scene before it became the "ATL party scene". If everyone in the club is having a goodtime I will have an effortlessly good time too cause the vibe it right. But if the girls are acting stank and the dudes are acting desperate or like punka$$es (like asking me to by them a drink ).. ummmm then I can't stand it and I have to force myself fun.... The Gold room was cool because everyone was having fun but I know that this place could have been waaaay better. I prefer places that are consistently good not just "depends" on the night type of places. I agree with other rateclubsers about the size. Waaay tooo small and too many "VIP" sections that are weirdly placed. Dance floor is waay too small. They didn't have a coat check and this girl stole my coat, jerked it right out of my brothers hand. He told me she was so drunk and was adamant that it was her friends coat so he just let her have it instead of causing a scene. $25 cute little coat just gone. SN: I better not see her on the street. Anyway...... This guy at the door was so rude! I had an e-mail flyer print out and the guy gave me the third degree about my email address and when did I print it and so on and so forth. It was so annoying and he was just sh**ty all the way around acting like if you didn't come to be VIP then your not sh*t basically. They held the line for no reason. The men in the place were dressed really fly and smelled magnificent. There were some ballers in there both male and female. Since its so small it got packed easily and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Once it got late it seemed like the men were trying to go home with somebody....anybody... and I had more than one guy feel it necessary to give me his entire resume within two secs of saying hello. Which i thought was weird. There were celebrities in the club that night (Chris Brown, Keri Hilson, & Polow Da Don). My star struck cousin really enjoyed how close they were to all us common folk. And Miss Keri Baby was very sweet to oblige her for some pictures. Chris "Lil Ike Turner" Brown was not up for the fan photo ops that night and sorda just looked and danced to the wall pretending that there wasn't a zillion gold diggers staring at him. THE DRINKS WERE EXPENSIVE BUT STRONG. So I ended up spending waaaay too much $$ but we got nice and toasted by the end of the night which was a plus. Me and my folk basically decided that we wouldn't go back but we had a nice time. So take your chances.

guaranteed decent time! I didn't valet but paid $5 to park behind busbys. (turn left on cloverdale and pull into the 2nd entrance parking lot. There is a guy standing there to take your $5 and put a ticket on your car. ) Music was good. They pump 80s in the bar / game area and hip hop / top 40 in the main dance area. Bartenders are fast and drinks are decent. My friends discovered "surt city sin" (I think that's the name of it) which I will try next time I'm not the DD. The patio is cramped but there is always a spot to be found. Good place to bring a big group without worrying about lines and people being 'chosen' to get in. I would like to dock 1 star since my friend and I got there at 12:15 and had to pay $10 cover (ridiculous! ) but I won't since the larger party we were waiting for got in sans cover. Next time I'll head in with the "birthday celebrant" group! And if you decide to go ---- Hot Dog lady on cloverfield --- she is the best $4 spent!

Really pretty place. There are two main areas (the front patio w/ its own bar) and the main dancefloor inside). A lot of security here (as in..guys dressed in black with little pagers), it seemed a bit overwhelming but whatever. The place has a lot of potential. I went on a wednesday night..I thought it was ok. They played mostly house that night..I heard one good DJ, and that's about it. There were go-go dancers and finally a woman playing a violin came out..which I guess cancelled out the gross-looking go-go dancers. It was about 60% men (typically like 28+yrs old it looked like)..as the night went on, the girls were leaving and it became like 80% men by 1am. I only saw like 2 hott guys that whole night. Eh..I don't think I'd go back. I'd rather go to the Avalon..or even Vanguard to listen to house...imported house/electro from Europe or really good talent from right here.
