Argus, on the other side of the block wasn't exactly open so we wandered over to El Rio. Here's how it went: Tall slender bouncer: "ID's ladies" Us Ladies: (hands over ID's) TSB: It's 8$ UL: 8$? (Steps aside looks at each other then over at TSB) We just wanted to get our drink on?? TSB: (smiles) "It's Salsa night, but if you just want to drink I won't charge a cover. BUT I better not catch you girls shaking your booties on the dance floor." We wandered in, looked over at the salsa dancers and restrained from the irresistible 8$ booty shaking. Then walked over to the bar ordered a couple of margaritas and beers and got our drink on.
by Maria R. on I haven't tried dinner here, after hitting up another club in the area we came here on a Thursday night. The place wasn't empty but no where near overly-packed. The set-up and decor was pretty cool, I liked that there was a somewhat separated dining area and then the bar/clubbish area to the side, as well as the large buddhas everywhere. Drinks were regularly-priced and the bartenders were fast. Music was ok- it was all house/trance, which I like, however the selection they were playing wasn't the best. Wouldn't come here for an entire night out but I'd come back for a late night stop again.
by Tressa Furney on Went here for my bday on Thursday night. A large contingent of my high school, college, and work friends showed up. About 40 strong. It was a big gathering. We also came the night of a bridal party. We were greeted to two white girls in warm ups and leg warmers..dancing the night away on the oh so cozy dance floor. People complain that the DJ plays the same old music. Well my answer to that is..it's the 80s! There was a FINITE amount of music from the time..and they're playing what people like! Doesn't make sense to be looking for something NEW from the 80s... Kinda funny actually. Anyhow..the party was fun..similar to how it was in NY at culture club. The people were really friendly. Not as friendly as NY..still some city attitude..but much less than in other clubs. The drinks were pretty strong and does help loosen things up. I was pretty tipsy and my friend Jason and I laugh to this day about how I kept coming over to him as he sat at a table and kept repeating the same thing to him 2-3 times "Hey man..it's great to be here..the music's great..I think some more people are coming..lemme go get em..". Something like that. The funny part of the evening was when the bridal party was dancing on the dance floor. My inebriated friend went over and freaked the bride! And did it in a very hard thrusting Patrick Swayze sort of way... that quickly turned the cheers of "go AMY!"...to "hey..get off of her!" It can turn THAT quickly!. Don't worry..they all went out for a smoke and all was forgiven...(in fact, the bridesmade..gave him her number...I guess she was swooned by the Swazye thrust of love) I was on my way to the trough like bathroom urinal, when a tall 5'10" blonde draped herself over me(always a good thing) and said.."hey..I need to PEE really bad..can you watch me so nobody else watches?" I'm not sure how that made sense..but hey..why do I want to ruin her night? We proceeded to go into the mens restroom(I guess the women's restroom was packed..bunch of jackals!)...and she made her way to the trough and did this incredible yoga stance and lifted her oh so tiny skirt and did her thing (sorry..if that's too much information for some..and sorry..if it's not enough for others). Let's say there were some jaws dropping in the men's room. some guys asked me why I was there and I said "well..she told me to guard her"..and they all smiled and gave me a pat on the back... Then I suddenly realized that they gave me a PAT on the BACK in the bathroom! I threw away that shirt. Anyhow..she finished her thing and came over to me...gave me a big hug/kiss and said "thank's Babe..I really needed that..." "see you out there" and slid her curvy body around me and walked out... I still threw away that shirt. Good times Cat Club. Good times.
