by Sein C. on I've been to the one in Oakland many years ago but I didn't have a Rateclub account then, so I can't remember how it was, but I remember it being good....anyways, here's a more accurate and updated review. Came here this past weekend for one of my good guy best friend's birthday. Parking was easy, there's a clean and safe parking garage just below the restaurant and art center, but keep in mind that they DO NOT validate your parking, so it will be about $12. Cool entrance..got your dinner section on the left, a nice dim lit full bar on the right, which is also the entrance to the stage. The night that we went, Flavor Flave and the Public Enemy group were performing..BUMMER! Sold out..that would have been dope..oh well.. We had a party of 10 and we had the dope special glass covered room right in the middle..VIP, baby. Service was excellent, the staff there are very nice and helpful. They always made sure that our waters were filled, if we needed anything, and how everything was. We pretty much ordered our own thing. The hubs and I shared a mixed Caesar salad..pretty good..typical caesar salad but arugula mix instead of your classic romaine. Good portion to share with another before main dish. The hubs and I ordered our own sashimi sampler..had uni,sake, magari, hamachi, tai and something else. Not your typical sashimi..presentation was very pretty...a bit small but it is a more upscale restaurant. I had a chance to try my friend's brussel sprouts and those were DEELISH! They don't have any complimentary birthday cake but you can order any dessert and they will write something nice and bring a candle. My friend got the gingerbread pudding and so did my husband and I. It was good but I've honestly had better. Overall, the experience was nice. Fun atmosphere and great service.
by Lindsey Buonomo on I really want to love this place, but I just can't because the basement/dance floor is just so hot and stuffy. The drinks and desserts are also pretty expensive. The music is not always to my liking, but the world doesn't revolve around me so I'll give them that. For now, I'll stick to just liking Bubble Lounge. Why? First of all, it's FREE cover. Second, they seem to attract all the beautiful people. Or maybe it's just the lighting. Whatever works! JONASAPPROVED!
