Alright, alright. This should have 4 stars on it, but they really pissed me off last weekend, so here goes the three star version. I have been to Club Bimbo's probably 20 times over the last 7 years. I have organized events there (with sometimes 20-30 participants) and collectively must have generated $10,000 in revenue for them over the years. So, my girlfriend and I went to see Tainted Love (AWESOME) last weekend (May 23rd) and arrived super-early to score a nice table. We got the perfect spot, ordered our requisite two drinks and after generously tipping the waitress on both rounds headed out to the dance floor at around 10:15. Since our jackets contained some valuables, we had checked them and our only other choice for "reserving" the table (i.e. indicating that we'd be back) was to leave two almost completely full drinks on the table. Upon our return, a whole different group had taken over our sweet spot and the drinks were gone. I asked the waitress and she said "I am sorry, the bus boy must have thought that you were gone and cleared the table." I am thinking "fine, sucks to lose the table, just get me my brew and water back" and would have left it at that, but for some reason the waitress couldn't find it in her heart to at least get us replacement drinks. I then talked to the door guy who essentially told me the same story ("tough luck, buddy") and also found it necessary to paw at me repeatedly. Sooooo...in summary, great place, I'll likely go back, but boy oh boy does their customer service suck sometimes. I mean, really? For three bucks they could have made a very happy customer out of me, but instead I am on rateclubs writing a negative review. Excellent use of Customer Lifetime Value and Loyalty Bonus, there, geniuses. And, door dude, don't ever paw at another customer if you want to avoid assault charges.

You know, usually I'm very skeptical of places like Marquee, but for some reason I find myself not afraid to endorse it. I went there the other night, for the first time, and I'm not going to lie--I had negative expectations. Those expectations, however, were well exceeded. I enjoyed the fact that it wasn't very difficult to get in, although they weren't just letting anyone in. There was a $20 cover, however, but I guess that's what comes with the territory. My favorite aspect of marquee is that there are two totally separate sections that have two totally different DJs playing different music. If you don't like what you are dancing to upstairs, head right downstairs, and vice versa. The crowd was a bit rowdy, and there seemed to be a lot of out of manhattaners. The drinks were as pricey as you would imagine them to be, although our bartender was really fun and hooked us up. The music was great, and there was plenty of space even though there were tons of people there. I'll probably go back here a few times, although I could definitely see myself getting over it real quickly. I'd say my 4 stars out of 5 is about as good as my rating will ever get for this place, but I did have fun.
