by Scott T. on There's a reason I barely go to clubs anymore, and that reason is because of Suite 181. You couldn't bring me back here if my life depended on it! My friends got the bright idea to come here for new years a few years back, and we widely consider it to be one of the worst mistakes we've ever made. For starters, it was $100 dollars to get into the place that night. I don't care what holiday it is, you should never be charged $100 to get into a damn nightclub for one night...and if you are going to charge THAT much, you can at least give us a little more than one glass of cheap champagne. So me, my friend Aaron, his girlfriend and our other friend Cam end up going (against my wishes, but you gotta be with your friends, right?) We've been there for maybe about three hours when we decide to go outside and take a look around. By this time our friend Cam was a little buzzed, and since he doesn't drink often he had the typical glazed look. However, he wasn't straight up drunk or belligerent by and stretch of the imagination. Suddenly, out of know where, this little fat security guard rolls up on us and shines a flash light directly in Cam's eyes. He immediately informs him that he's going to throw him out of the club because he believes he is on drugs because his pupils are dilating. I was in complete shock how ignorant this little pig was. Of course his damn eyes are going to dilate, your flashing light directly in his eyes in the dark! what an idiot. So based on this uneducated assessment, he was escorted out. My friend Aaron went out to try and talk some sense into this little bouncer with a Napoleon complex while we tried to talk to the owner or at least SOMEONE in charge. Long story short, the owner refused to even meet with us to discuss the issue, and my friend Aaron got tackled by a large group of the most anal security guards you'll ever find at any club ANYWHERE. I there must have been eight or nine of these guys that came out of no where and went after my friend like he had the president of the United States held hostage. In addition, the drinks were expensive and watered down..I'm so glad I really got my money's worth from this place (insert sarcasm here). Seriously though......NEVER go to a club on new years, especially this over-priced club with a staff that takes all your money and in return wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire. I would give this place 0 stars if it was possible.
by Emilia Krupka on What other hotel can lay claim to hosting the first Oscars and Marilyn Monroe's first movie, yet also a high school prom (on the night in question I was there)? The lounge area is old school cool and not a bad spot for people watching on the comfy leather couches. Some of the people heading into and out of the side bar were interesting to say the least. The martinis we had were also the best I've had in a long time...
by Tamara W. on Went to a friend's birthday party a few months back at the Park. Way too crowd and the drinks weren't even that great. Not my cup of tea.
