by Frank M. on I get dragged to midtown every six months or so by a "friend". Each time I ask myself why did I let this happen, and how is this person my friend? Cosmo/Lava is good for bachlorette parties and guys that want to hit on bachlorette parties. Other than that, it is pretty useless.
by Houston Jeff on You know, usually I'm very skeptical of places like Marquee, but for some reason I find myself not afraid to endorse it. I went there the other night, for the first time, and I'm not going to lie--I had negative expectations. Those expectations, however, were well exceeded. I enjoyed the fact that it wasn't very difficult to get in, although they weren't just letting anyone in. There was a $20 cover, however, but I guess that's what comes with the territory. My favorite aspect of marquee is that there are two totally separate sections that have two totally different DJs playing different music. If you don't like what you are dancing to upstairs, head right downstairs, and vice versa. The crowd was a bit rowdy, and there seemed to be a lot of out of manhattaners. The drinks were as pricey as you would imagine them to be, although our bartender was really fun and hooked us up. The music was great, and there was plenty of space even though there were tons of people there. I'll probably go back here a few times, although I could definitely see myself getting over it real quickly. I'd say my 4 stars out of 5 is about as good as my rating will ever get for this place, but I did have fun.
by Ryan W. on Get this: 45 Mins + 1 Beer + 2 Margaritas + Chips & Salsa - $13 = Happy Ryan I was waiting on my girl to have sushi and decided that having a few drinks would be best for killing time. I have this thing were I like to take advantage of a good deal - as if getting a good deal is better than not spending the money at all. I only intended to have a beer - then I realize it's half-price happy hour - so i ordered a standard margarita. It was pretty tasty, so I decided to have another - only this time with Patron. Thank God I ordered the chips and salsa - other wise I might have been sloppy - who knows, maybe I was. Anyway - it was all $13 - what a deal.
