I'll do the clubbing thing once in a blue and tonight i actually went back to Marquee for the first time in like 3 years or something. My friend was throwing a party so we decided to check it out. The only reason i went was because his table was upstairs in the hiphop room and i was in the mood to dance. Took my homegirl with me, had about 3 drinks danced to the less than decent pop/hiphop music, and left. That place is whack. Not coming back. It's a very diff experience if you're a youngin 17-21. It's fun, exciting and you don't really mind the crowd. Befriend promoters and it's skipping the line, no cover, and free drinks. Head elsewhere after..

I came here back in 1999, before they changed it. I think the prices have changed since and the resturant. (I hope not too much though.) But back in 1999 the prices were around $100.00 per person. It was one of the best resturants I have been to. Four waiters would wait to the sides until we were finished and then they would come out and take the plate away and bring another. The food was amazing and designed nicely and the dessert was so good (I can still remember it.) It was darkly lit and I felt as if I was on the Titanic (big movie of that moment in time.) I have recenly seen the Moshulu on TV and the entrees have presentation but look quite different and I also heard they just lowered the pricing, which is always a good thing. And to add another thing, the pricing has changed to about 12 to 20 an entree, which is average pricing or $$.

I went for Tuesday Baby Tuesday. I docked a star from Marquee because I didn't really like the music; I think they played too much super-mainstream stuff (lame remixes of SexyBack, lots of 80s bar music) and not enough house or... anything else. Other than that, though, I had a good time. I can't say too much about the attractiveness of the crowd (it's so damn dark, and I'm drunk, and so everyone basically looks the same -- how do you people manage to do it?), but if you're that preoccupied with how good-looking the people are at the places you frequent, I think it's time to sit down and take a long, hard look at your life. I liked the two dance floors and the fact that the sound systems dealt so well with two songs being played at once while the speakers were just 25 yards apart. The bartenders were quick; the drinks were pretty standard. The bathroom was small but doable. We didn't get a table on the Tuesday on which I went, but I noticed a lot of the tables were placed in really annoying locations (a la Cain) but others were really premium. It should also be noted that the girls I was with kept getting hit on by skeevy older dudes, but I guess that comes with the territory (however, it never happened at Cielo, which is another reason Cielo gets 5 stars instead of 4). We had three guys and four girls in our group and we arrived at 12:30. Only had to wait about five minutes to get in. Don't be 100% guys, and be well-dressed, and be cordial, and you shouldn't have much of a problem.
