aside from it being eerily quiet on a friday night, the 5-8pm happy hour at roe/prive was surprisingly nice. the drink specials feature $3 beers, $4 wells, and $5 wines, and complimentary appetizers are served once you order drinks (that night, we got a couple of ricotta stuffed zucchini popper-thingies and some allspice-flavored beef puffs... not bad). they also serve other appetizers if you feel like something more substantial, like sweet potato fries (will try next time!). the bartender and wait staff are very friendly, perhaps because the crowd was laid back that night. would recommend for anyone who wants to grab a relaxing drink before heading out to dinner.

Excellent venue.  I've seen a variety of bands here, most recently Limbeck and the Format, who btw ROCKED IT.  The venue itself is absolutely amazing, aesthetically and acoustically, and it's one of those places that big, but still feels intimate.  I have history with this place; besides numerous jammin' shows I've seen here, my high school almost had our senior prom here.  Now THAT would have been awesome. The drinks are pretty strong, tho pricey, and the staff is very friendly.  If there is a good band playing here, I'll have no qualms about coming down and rocking out with the best of them.

I've written my main review on the original salt lick page so look there for more detail... The salt lick at the airport doesn't live up to the original mostly because it's such an experience driving all the way out to middle-of-nowhere Texas where people line up from all around just to get some of the best BBQ in the world. My stomach is aching the entire day and motivates the car to go just a little faster so I can chow down on some brisket, sausage and ribs just a little sooner. Anyways, the potato salad isn't very cold here compared to the driftwood location because it's not as fresh. This is one of my favorite side dishes and sadly I avoid it at the airport location. Everything else is pretty much the same, they have a standard that they've kept to in this small outlet.
