So me and a group of friends were out for dinner and decided to check out Rosa Mexicano because Fox Sports was packed due to the NFL Playoff. This was my second time eating there, and against my better judgement (La Parilla) - I decided to go along with the crowd. I will try to make this concise from this point on. 1. Price - If you are looking to spend waaaaaay too much for mexican food - this is your place. 12 bucks for Guac - its good BUT not that good. 2. Decor - Its a nice place, lots of art and good atmosphere 3. Wait Time - There was none (I think we all know why comparatively speaking) So after ordering i think 4 appetizers & 2 orders of Guacamole to share between six people and I had a bowl of chili ($5), everyone had water (just being healthy), one person had a margarita. The bill came to $135.00 (Insane) - The food is not that good, its not bad, but its not THAT good either. If you have a group, go to La Parilla - good atmosphere, good food, and the wait staff wont start vacuuming beside your table while you are 30mins into the meal.

one of the best LA experiences yet. a friend filmed a movie with one of the comics last night so my expectations were set that at least one of the comics was funny. there were 6 comics all had my abs in pain today. light food and drinks are served (nachos and wine to be exact) so don't expect a fancy dinner. this night reminded me how much i need to laugh and how happy my life really is. if you're in a rut or really just want to do something different with friends this is the spot. some of the comics headlined were chris rock's brother and jamie hamilton (total of 6) and i loved all of them!

I went to Deep last Sunday. Timmy Regisford, a DJ from New York was playing. It was an amazing time. The sound system, though I wouldn't say painfully loud, is one of the best I've ever heard in a club. The DJ did play the same track and rhythm over a couple times through the night. But overall, it was a very good selection of Deep House.. He threw in a good portion of afro and latin rhythm, with a bit of Disco House as well. My description doesn't do it justice, but suffice it to say, if you call yourself a House Head, he had some food in there for everyone, and no one left hungry. Now one of the reasons no one left hungry is that to even get in the house, you needed to have some money to eat with.. It was $10 to park, $20 for a ticket at the door, and $10 for my first drink.. Thats $40 faster than you can say "Music and Wine".. All told, I probably spent a good $75 in there that night. I don't know if it was worth it, but I do know, I'm not mad that I paid the price. I had a really good night, and I didn't know anybody in the place. All the good feelings you have from House, the spirit of people who really love it, was there that night. You could tell Deep is a place for House Heads by House Heads... who are trying to make their money. But hey, I can't begrudge them that. - May 29 2007 UPDATE - I went to Deep last night.. something told me not too, but I wanted to hear some good House.. so I decided to flip a coin.. Heads I go, Tails I stay... {drumroll} its heads! So, I'm gettin ready to go.. But something was telling me stay home! Save your money! So a couple minutes later, I flipped again.. Heads AGAIN! Thats gotta be a sign or somethin'!! So anyway, I head up there, spend my money, and Marques was on some disco vibe (yecchhh..), and it was a general sausage party ( http://www.urbandictio...) (hurl....) up there.. Gotta take a star for that. So it can be hit or miss. Keep it in mind. - July 16, 2007
