There were many things I liked about Alfredo's but I can not give more than three starts. I love the fact that this place is an independent restaurant. There are too many restaurants that are owned by a corporation (**group restaurant type of thing where one company is running several restaurants) and it is nice to see little place like this doing well. The owner is a very nice guy and so as all the other staffs there. You will feel very homey when you come to this restaurant. The pickled veggies they serve as an appetizer. Delicious! I would LOVE to know how they make them. They were one of the best pickles I have ever tasted. The cappuccino. SO good...... You have to order this after dinner. Forget their desserts. They make a mean cappuccino here.... Other than that, the food was not impressive at all. It was not bad or anything. It is just that their food did not surprise me at all. It was a traditional, Sicilian Italian food, nothing different or sensational. In short, this place is def not my favorite place but a reliable Italian restaurant and am happy to have found out about it. I maybe coming back in the future...... PS: I would not be so excited about this place for a date...The outside and the inside looks like a shack.

I'd given up going to clubs because all I could find was ones that played Hip Hop, 80's, Techno or Trance, none of which I like. Another friend had already just gone here for Trance night, another type of music I don't like. What I DO like is House, and thank goodness a friend invited me to Vanguard, which I'd never been to because I had a great time. Went with some friends last night to see/hear Dmitri from Paris, and I was not disappointed. Like everyone else has mentioned, roomy, affordable drinks ($10), different areas like the patio and lounge room.

So I always forget where the entrance to Montmartre is, but now I just tell myself "by the Burger King lot, across the street from Lucky Strike, on Highland" and I somehow manage to get there. I've been here for several parties, the first one being the infamous party where Paris abruptly left upon learning Nicole was there since DJ AM was spinning. Every time I go there are a bevy of stars-- Carmen Electra, Dave Navarro, Molly Sims, Adrian Grenier (cute!), Nicky Hilton, Tara Reid (lol), Tom Green, etc. etc. The inside is very Old Hollywood meets swanky LA nightclub-- there is a history behind the building, too. I took my visiting NYC friends here last week for the Pussycat Dolls clothing launch/fashion show, they had a fabulous time seeing some...skimpy fashions and random celebs. There's never been a problem at the door or with the list, even when we came late from dinner. There's usually some cheeseball guys here, like some guy saying my friend had been "staring at him all night"-- um, gross no!-- but it's not as bad as some clubs like Element. And don't forget you can park at the Hollywood + Highland lot for $2 w/ validation (so buy something from Starbucks or Virgin beforehand) rather than valeting.
