I went to XIV on the advice of the hotel concierge, who told me that ,"there are very few restaurants in L.A. that are a hip scene and an amazing culinary experience... but this is one that accomplishes both". So, how could I say no. After a slightly late arrival, we were seating quickly on an insanely busy night (the Saturday night before the Golden Globes). Good sign. I was with my wife and son. We all agreed to get the full experience of chef Michael Mina and go for the 14 course tasting menu. The food came in succession and each course was about 3-4 bites, just enough to savor. Of the 14 courses, I felt it was a little heavy on the fish. The only one courses I didn't care for was a Cesar salad. The remaining 13 courses were all delicious and prepared perfectly. The service was fantastic and the ambiance of the restaurant was beautiful. I would absolutely go to XIV again to experience some of the other dishes on the menu.

Went to this club during Adtech week and it was pretty nice. It has 2 levels; main floor is the street level and the 2nd level is below. There's a VIP room down there too for you VIPer's. 2nd level is interesting as it's like being in a cave. It is properly ventilated, so you won't sweat like a pig. Lots of bars at the club, so you can expect to maintain constant de-hydration and perpetual stupor. When you feel thoroughly de-hydrated, loss of normal body mechanics, and the room is spinning out of control, you may then show your drunk ass out the door where there will be a couple taxi's conveniently waiting to drive your "i'm ready to puke ass" home. However, if you start to harass people outside, there's also a police officer or 2 waiting to take your dumb ass down to the soma station. I actually witnessed an incident and it was oddly hilarious!

Not as good as Cafe Mozart, but decent. Find all the traditional Korean baked goods and desserts here, in a very pleasing new space on Buford Hwy. Bright, clean and modern. Everything is fresh but come early, once gone....is gone...
