Went on a Friday night.  I really wanted to like this place.  And at first, I did.  No cover and a nice space with good music.  Unfortunately, that seems to be what they use to get you in the door.  Because what awaits you inside, are rude inconsistent bartenders, a coat check line so long you will lose your buzz waiting, and an packed dancefloor that hardly makes the good music worth navigating the crowd of drunk guys spilling their drinks on you. This is basically how the night went... 1.  Coat check line is so long downstairs, there were at least 20 people in line and it was barely moving.  I get it, it's snowing and everyone needs to check coats.  PROBLEM:  there is a coatcheck upstairs and racks of empty hangers AND a guy in there, and when people saw him and started lining up, finally announces after ignoring everyone for a few miniutes, "oh go downstairs."  We decided to leave our jackets on the booth near the brick wall (yes, I know that was dumb, because my jacket got stolen) 2.  Drinks can be strong, and pretty tasty (meaning you can actually taste the alcohol).  PROBLEM:  the first time I ordered drinks from one bartender, I got a Ketel Soda and Ketel Redbull.  That was $28.  Not a big deal, it's NY.  Bartender tells me there is a $30 minimum for credit cards.  Not a big deal either.  I just order another drink and then he gives me attitude when I say I don't want to open a tab.  I give him my credit card and get a receipt for $47.  How did it go from $28 to $47 from adding one more drink?  Kinda sketchy but decided to just walk away since we wanted to have a good time. Second time we go to get drinks, we order from a different bartender, but in the same pit (near upstairs entrance) and we get 3 drinks.  It comes out to about $42.  This bartender tells us the minmum is $50 for credit cards.   What the hell?  Wasn't it $30 like a half hour ago?  So we order 2 more drinks.  Then the total is $78.  Im not that good at math, but I think that means 2 more drinks cost $36.  Again, same situation, different bartender. Something is totally shady at this place.  It seems like they are totally ripping people off.  Most people who order multiple drinks aren't going to ask for a breakdown of how it added up to so much in front of everyone, so they just let it go, and they get away with overcharging. We were drunk, but not stupid.  It seems like the management tells the bartenders to arbitrarily set a bar minimum each time you order so you just fall short of it, hoping you start a tab.  But seeing how this place is run, I would never leave my credit card with them.  You will probably end up with multiple drink orders that were't yours. Do yourself a favor and drink beforehand.  Take a cab.  Go in for free.  If you get lucky, find a spot on the dancefloor and have a good time.  Wait in line if you must check your coat cuz afer paying $50 for 3 drinks, I would want to steal someone's jacket too.

I went to this place a couple of times, both on Wed night and it was pretty crowded. The decorations are from the '70s and they have their own fashion if you like the genre. The view from this place is great, being on the 21st floor, the drinks are pretty expensive ($10 and up). The music has been  really various and generally enjoyable. The big drawback from both time I went there was the men/women ratio, something like 4:1 and for me it wasn't that funny to dance surrounded by guys : )

The first time I came here was for T's birthday. I never heard of this place before until T's invite.   So I told J to come with me to this party. So J and I went to this party together and hung out with T and her friends.  I didn't expect this place to be filled with Asians, since that's not T's style.  But this place was an Asian Invasion - but whatever I am there for T and not for anyone else. J again is such a laid back dude but can be very violent when he's drunk. He kept sneaking off to the restroom to smoke.  The bathroom attendant kept on asking him to stop smoking.  Meanwhile, T and I kept on going to the bathroom together several times throughout the night.  Since I was sick from the alcohol and T was taking care of me. There is such a long line for the restroom since it is coed.  The line is right by the bar, so it could be a bit annoying and troublesome. They have this belly dancer that comes out and performs - eh, that didn't really appeal to me much. In the midst of everything - the bathroom attendant guy points to me and here comes the bouncer and I was like oh crap am I going to get kicked out? Instead the bouncer goes up to J and tells me he need to get out.  He's like that dude asked you repeatedly to stop smoking but you didn't - so now you have to get out. Since I went there with him, I naturally left with him as well. I didn't even get to say goodbye to T - since the bouncer was not playing with J. I went here another time with J and again he was drunk so he was trying to start fights with other guys there. I am not really into this place but the reason why I came here is to get away from the lounge next door.
