To prevent people from taking up the precious, highly sought-after booth space at Nick's I'd say this place is gross. But that would be a lie. In fact, even joking about lying about this place being bad is making me tearful. There is no place in San Francisco I crave more for price, ambiance, food, and drinks. Nick's is where I take family and friends whenever they show up from out-of-town, and it's the only restaurant in the city I'll sit on a bus for an hour for, then stand in line for 30 minutes, then stand staring at people with daggers for another 30 minutes, while my food is getting cold, until they empty *my* booth. I love Nick's. Please open another location. Please?!

There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition. It lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination... It is an area we call the Clermont Lounge. Doodie, Doodie... Doodie Doodie...

I came here for a post-wedding celebration with some friends on a Saturday night. The place never really filled up at all and the space is all right... nothing particularly interesting about it. You could definitely smell the remnants of indian food throughout the restaurant turned club/lounge. Our group took over upstairs balcony and canopy area. The balcony area was good to have access to since you can stare down at the crowd (or lack therof) below you. The DJ is set up across from the balcony area and a belly dancer appeared half-way through the night moving her hips and balancing a tray of candles on her head... interesting... kinda. It was more interesting when my drunken buddies started mimicking her moves from our balcony and hooting and hollering at her. Yikes... good times though. Overall, the drinks were just all right and the music was a mixture of house, hip hop, and old rock n' roll songs.... kinda reminiscent of a high school dance. Regardless, this place was just OK in terms of the scene. This is definitely a place where you have a better time depending on the friends that you go with. If I was with just another friend, I probably would have preferred to goto Park, which is right next door.
