friendly and laid back staff, funny motel style with updated coat of paint, clean. amusing musical instruments in the room, good location, pool is probably nice when it's actually warm out. (is it ever warm at night in sf?!) only stay here if you can stomach the loin at night, an interesting area. also, internet service is provided by AT&T and sucks. other than that, a cool, basic hotel, BART nearby, and cheap, too!

SO as a former West Coast Promoter, i was eager to get out in the East Coast and check out the nightlife. But this place GRAVELY disappointed me. I guess maybe its the east coast way, so my friends say, but they are real a** h*&*s at the door. they REALLY think highly of themselves and their so-so club. I literally watched them turn away people because they were not "cute" enough for their club. I respect the process of weeding for a better club environment, but the way they went about it.. downright rude... and i am surprised no one has sued these people. the dance floor was wet, the drinks overpriced, and i was told the only reason we got in is because we agreed to buy a REALLY OVERPRICED bottle, even though we had 6 girls with us! ( ONLY 2 GUYS! ) I can see they are all about their money, but they are lucky they are in the east... cause this type of snobby behavior would never fly in the west. at least where i am from!

Why's everybody hating on Medjool? I've been up on that rooftop several times and have a good laugh every time. Sure, it can be a pain in the ass to get a drink, but a roof with heat lamps that's open most of the year? That's awesome. Plus, I always get to tell the story of how my outta towner girl cousin went ape s**t after doing lines with the strippers at the old Boys Toys, and that's priceless. But if you wanna hear that one you gotta meet me at Medjool.
