Hhhhmmm got'a do better Chef! We drove up to Midtown Kitchen and it reminded me of those places that are in the Atlantan Mag for the hottest spots in the city that is secluded and nestled in a quiet reserved area. The background lighting that lit up the restaurant was cool colors of "purple".. Let me just day "purple" is my favorite color! Therefore, I just knew this was the place to be...hhhmmm not quite. The door of steel design imprints was amazing and very inviting! The host with the most (Is what I called him) his personality was outstanding and customer service amazing. Greeting us and telling us to get ready for a wonderful experience.. While being asked: Have we been here before? Answer to question "no"... The inside décor was rich in style and at that moment I was thinking to self... Self: I may have my dinner party here... So, let the ordering begin! They had a 3 course meal selection to choose from and so we (just us two) decided this would be a great opportunity to sample items on the menu along with sharing. 3 courses of choice: First: Calamari, PARSNIP SOUPPARSNIP SOUP Main: Crispy flounder, hanger steak fritters Desert: WARM CHOCOLATE TRUFFLE, PECAN PRALINE Rating: Calamari - good because of the sauce Parsnip soup - No taste Crispy Flounder - Needed major seasoning Hanger Steak - DRY accompanied by an oily running booth (I asked for Steak sauce, because it needed a major lift! And the waiter indicated that the Chef ask that the restaurant not provide steak sauce because he believes that a good steak don't need sauce. (I do too if it's good). Hhmmmm and this was "not" Desert: Hands down the best out of the entire meal... We did not complain of course and just chopped it up for the "experience"...but such a shame because we will not be returning...unless there is a dinner party here and we are the guests attending! (sorry) Provided A'OK because the setup is wonderful...

A little slice of sanity in a dicey area. Been to Medici three times. It does have that "hideout from the 60's" feel. The interior is well done- muted colors, interesting chairs and tables with some room between them. The booths are cozy and comfortable, but not too small. The bathrooms are awesome! (A pleasurable surprise). The bar is funky, yet beautiful. Someone involved with the planning has good taste, and knew how to stretch a dollar during the refurbishing. The servers are consistently amazingly attentive while serving well executed menu offerings. Try it for yourself....................

Last night the good folks at 111 Minna were kind enough to lend their space, FREE, to the nonprofit I work for. Friendly people, nice space, chill vibe, and we made a crapload of money. THANKS 111 MINNA! My one complaint: I drank two delicious bloody marys, went back for thirds, and was told they don't make them. WTF? I blame them for my hangover since I was forced to mix beer with vodka.
