After visiting this restaurant for the third time this past Saturday, I'll give Pure two stars. I ordered two tacos - one chicken and one fish. Although the fish was different than most fish tacos (made with coleslaw and a spicy mayo) and good, the chicken taco was a huge let down. The price of the food is fair but their quesadillas are pre-made, so you can't customize your order...which makes you think....how fresh is your food? I like the restaurant setting itself, although in certain parts of the restaurant...it does feel a bit cramped. Service is good but parking just absolutely blows. None of my neighbors are big fans of this place either...I think the only reason they have lasted this long is simply the location and convenience for IP residents -- me being the prime example.

i like this place, because it's a wine bar, but it has beer. really- i do not like wine, and so you would think i would not go in a wine bar. well, you're wrong. sometimes, you have to go with the crowd. and sometimes, you are up wine creek without alcohol, and that sucks. this place has beer. and a menu, and a couch, and yes, that's a good combo. and the beer is affordable, and the live music was listenable. nice.

Update 8/2007 Well I've gotta bump you down CDN. I went here for a show after having years pass and you did me wrong. First you tell me I'm not on your "list" after presenting my ID and credit card. I look furiously for the email of the confirmation # on my phone and once I find that I still go through the spiel and runaround about how it's sold out and your list is "never wrong". SO if I have the confirmation with the email that says I bought the ticket, my ID and the credit card I bought it on, and that's not enough, what else do I have to do? Since I planned the whole night around the show I bit the bullet and bought a ticket (luckily for face value) from some guy who's wife was out of town. Then I realize what I thought years ago was cramped and quaint was just plain claustrophobic. The acoustics aren't too hot and when 1 of 5 tall ass people stand in a row you're basically hosed in seeing anything. Because the room is so small you can't stand far enough back to see either. The main act plays for 45 min and it's over. Yikes, just a poor experience all around. At least I got to see the show I guess.... -------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------- I've caught a few shows here and my only real complaint is the space gets packed and the stage is really low. So often times unless you're up on the sides or in the front you're only going to "hear" your band. Otherwise it's a good place to have a drink and hang out with some friends.
