Ok...Let me see how to start this... Could I comment on the drinks... the Inside lay out or the music...on this visit...Nope.  Okay so my boy and Iwere looking for somewhere to go on a Sunday night...Yeah... My Studio was packed, other spots looked good but we figured we try somewhere else new... both fairly new to the area. Well Colony wasn't completely new for me..the agency I am with had a holiday party there so I had an idea what the club was like...So we were like lets check it out. We get to the front...it wasn't crazy outside...barely people out front we did show up a lil late for LA time...I forget that stuff does close around 2 so used to Vegas and my homie Stan wanted to do everything like mix another song and eat apples before finally getting out the crib....ie why we didnt get into the first spot we were going to...thanks Stan...lol...anyway... We asked the door guy Homer if we had to get in the line...bc we were not on a guest list...Ive partied all over the place and usually know how it works if you don't know a visit a venue on a regular basis, know a promoter or your not dropping dough on bottles you gotta hit the waiting in line game...Im not accustom to it but hey i'm not to uppity to hit a line once in a while its just how it goes when your in a new area......but he said hold on...you guys will be in soon. So we waited there... Some of their regulars come up...yea they get in...no biggie thats expected....then some white guys show up....dressed similar to me in my boy...button down, nice jeans, and a baseball hat... So we waited some more...literally nobody is breaking down the rope to get in...except a drunk girl that got kicked out earlier...so we ask a the other door dude with the goofy glasses...what was the deal...no answer...he walked away from the rope and acted like he didnt know how to speak english... finally we ask the door girl and she goes and finds out for us what is up...because the other door dudes are too shook to tell two big black guys we arent to come in because of our hats...lol....its just funny to me...bc the promoter was wearing the same Phillies hat (poser not true Philly fan...his name probably starts with a P and likes the hat LOL) I was wearing and then they let 3 (I counted  yea I know it was lil anal but I had nothing else to do while i was waiting) different dudes in with baseball hats on as well just while we were standing there...seemed kinda shady... Seeing that I just started partying here in LA...and coming from Vegas...I definitely understand not all will get into a Venue...but clear and information helps everyone...if it was truly our hats and we were told before we waited 15-20mins...to get that information...we might of dropped them off to the car...and came back for a drink but that was not the case.....maybe they should hire more professional door people like the young lady Margaret that help us at the end....Honestly your hurting your venue Colony. Seriously.

You know what it was , I had not been to this venue in about 6 years but I did see B.O.B at S.O.B's (almost a play on words)  The stage area seemed really small though, mad cramped from where I was standing you know but that was still near the front.  I think B.O.B did a good job keeping the crowd into it. Everyone pretty much just knew him from that one song but he did some nice other joints too.  I would definitely go back here. 5 stars

alternately great or awful... living right down the street means i've seen the light and dark sides of this new bar on the miracle mile. for weeknights after work, it's low-key, uncrowded, and sorta perfect: 3-dollar draft beers for happy hour (5-8pm), and a bevy of bar games that beats most places. darts and pool, sure, but also ping pong, shuffle board, and bumper pool? SCORE. watch out on weekends though, where this unassuming sports bar is transformed into frat-guy club night hell. cover charges, overly-loud music, and an unsettling meat-market vibe, especially in the dance room that opens up. YIKES. i don't think i'll be going back saturday nights any time soon, but if you want to grab a pint and play some shuffleboard maybe i'll see you there some wednesday evening.
