by Seymour Rydberg on my default line is "i go to new york when i want to dance until 6 a.m.".... however after my night at Rise this weekend, I now have to admit the best night of dancing I've had in my life was not in Jamaica, Miami, LA, NY or any of the other usual party spots.. but right here in our own Boston. amazing house and drum beats and a group of chill people who are there to dance. no alcohol means you only get people who know how to have fun without being trashed. no drinks were spilled on me. no drunk guys groped me. everyone just danced - gay, straight, black, brown, white. best part was during ian van dahl's castles in the sky... i'm listening to the most beautiful woman's voice only to realize she's standing right beside me belting out on a mic. was a totally surreal experience and completely unexpected. her name was jessylou. if you can find her and hear her.. you really want to. meanwhile check out rise.
